Tourism Queensland and Nine's Today show have teamed to give one punter a walk-on role in the Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok.
In addition, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the winner would receive backstage access and a Gold Coast holiday with three friends.
"Being part of a Marvel Studios production is a unique opportunity and I am proud my Government was able to secure the filming of this blockbuster for our state," Ms Palaszczuk said.

Morning-show humor is apparently equally lame no matter what continent you're on. The Dalai Lama found this out the hard way, appearing on the Australian version of The Today Show only to be greeted with puns about pizza.
