We know that Wonder Woman 2 will take place in contemporary America. But what could that entail? Speculation ahead...
This article contains spoilers for Wonder Woman and Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice
Wonder Woman is raking in cash at the global box office, and its Rotten Tomatoes page is aglow with positive write-ups. Understandably, talk has already turned to a sequel.
Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins are both likely to return for more (Gadot is signed up, Jenkins - as things stand - isn't), and Wonder Woman 2 seems to have joined Warner Bros and DC’s ever-growing list of upcoming flicks.
It’s worth remembering here that Justice League is the next film on the DC timetable; it has a UK release date of November 17th 2017. The Flash and Aquaman are both slated for next year, although it seems that only the latter is actually on-track to...

If nothing else, Houdini and Doyle is a show put together by people who love watching television… and know where, and how, to borrow from the unusual things that seem to be working.
The danger involved here is that it will end up feeling too cobbled together. The obvious popularity of Sherlock, and other period mysteries doesn’t necessarily mix well with sci-fi/paranormal, even if such things are also gaining traction in the ratings. This one even throws in some of the goofy fun of Murdoch Mysteries, which is a great show, but sounds a little screwy on paper.
The long and short of it is that Houdini and Doyle has too many things going on to have much chance of success, and it has to also deal with the idea of keeping some semblance of the reality of two historical figures… plus ghosts.
The show avoids the pitfalls...

2015 might now be running on fumes, but there are still some incredibly exciting films to come before it rolls over into 2016. The start of Oscar season means we can expect Important performances, and Christmas means a couple of summer-sized blockbusters to feed the family’s need for a distraction from killing each other.
Added to that there’s the small matter of the Force reawakening, Leonardo DiCaprio’s latest attempt to break his Academy duck and a surf heist movie that seems to have wandered into the wrong release window entirely.
The long and short of it is that there’s no reason to start looking to the embarrassment of cinematic riches coming in 2016 just yet…

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war. Or more accurately: In the grim darkness of the far future, everything is done because it’s awesome. Seriously, if Warhammer 40,000 had one rule, it would be everything is done because it’s cool.
Are things like chainsaw swords or giant robots the size of cities practical? No, not really. How about giant cathedrals on top of star ships the size of continents? Not particularly. Fire lines of plasma rifle wielding soldiers that can kill their enemies long before they get in range to hit them with their chainsaw swords? Ok, maybe, but the Tau Empire is different. A shame they’re not in this game.
However, while this game may not feature the best faction in the Warhamer 40k lore, it is still one of the best games to carry the Warhammer 40k title. At the very least,...

We all know Shah Rukh Khan is a complete family man who is obsessed with his kids. Once in a while he shares some pictures with fans on social media. Today he shared one of the most cutest picture we have seen in a while.
We see little AbRam, who is now standing on his own feet, chilling on the terrace with big brother Aryan. While Aryan seems to be somewhat lost in thoughts, the little one looks up to his brother.
Khan tweeted the picture and said: “The long and short of it…truth has a beauty of its own.”
Seriously could this picture be any cuter?!?!

In what departments does the PlayStation 4 have the edge over the Xbox One and Wii U? Riyad picks his key feature...
The PlayStation 4 is a strong gaming platform for numerous reasons, many of which I mentioned in my previous article. It is, on paper, a more powerful console, and the fact that Microsoft was trying to boost the Cpu clock speed in the Xbox One just weeks before launch hammered that point home.
Unfortunately for Microsoft, no amount of Cpu frequency tweaking can make up for the huge memory bandwidth advantage that the PS4 has. Granted, there are ways to level that playing field by making use of the Xbox One’s on-die Esram, but Sony’s decision to throw 8Gb of GDDR5 shared memory at the PS4 has made it easier for developers to use the platform to its full potential.

Grimm‘s Silas Weir Mitchell is fondly recalling Monroe and Rosalee’s Season 3, Aka the lead-up to their Wesen wedding. It’s a measure of how rough life is about to get for the newlyweds — a wolfy Blutbad and a foxy Fuchsbau — that their somewhat fraught path to the altar seems like a cakewalk in comparison.
After all, even the most strenuous parental objections are nothing next to angry, intolerant strangers spewing death threats — all because the pair married outside of their Wesen species and happen to have a Grimm as a best friend.

Short film programmers from Berlin and Tribeca called for lighter fare at a masterclass in Abu Dhabi.
Filmmakers from the UAE put questions about shorts to festival programmers at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival this week and wanted to know if their submissions needed a strong “message”.
“We don’t want a message, we’re over that,” laughed Maike Hohne from the Berlinale. “Seriously though, you don’t need to have a ‘message’ in your film.”
Tribeca’s Ben Thompson added: “There’s a lot less comedy in submissions than drama and festival programmers love comedy. They don’t tend to win a lot of awards but do get into a lot of festivals because the world is a serious place.”
The panel, titled The Long and Short of It – I’ve Made a Short Film, Now What?, also included Alice Kharoubi from the Cannes Film Festival and Nina Rodriguez from Guanajuato International Film Festival.

As Rangers inevitably hurtle towards a deal to rename Ibrox after Mike Ashley acquired the stadium’s naming rights for just £1, and Derek Llambias heads towards the CEO job, it’s an interesting point to look back to when the rights were up for grabs and Llambias represented Sports Direct to a consultancy meeting. Ignoring for a minute how much of a conflict of interest that now looks, some of the revelations from then chief executive Charles Green brought to light how much renaming Newcastle‘s stadium actually brought into the club.
At the time of the Sports Direct Arena renaming, Derek Llambias spoke to BBC Radio Newcastle to say that he hoped a permanent sponsor could generate “between £8million and 10million a year. [And] That would give us another player.”
As if confirming as much, when Charles Green revealed the discussions held about renaming the stadium,...

In some ways you really have to commend what Newcastle have achieved in the transfer market since 2009. They’ve set their own rules and their own valuations, and have gone after targets with a logical approach that means they have rarely paid over the odds on players who have turned out to be misfires. Yes, there have been high-profile mistakes like Sylvain Marveaux, Papiss Cisse (to a certain extent anyway) and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, but the real issue in all three cases is not the quality of the player or the price paid, but the manager attempting to get the best out of them.
After a summer of heady spending, something looks like it might have changed. There was already talk that the policy from now on would be the same as an over=packed nightclub – one in, one out – before the transfer window slammed shut with...

A 15-year-old New Hampshire girl who disappeared while on her way home from school nine months ago is safely home with her family, the state attorney general said Monday. Abigail Hernandez was reunited with her family on Sunday evening, Attorney General Joseph Foster said. Foster said the family has asked for privacy. He said Abigail's mother, Zenya Hernandez, told authorities "today we are the happiest people on earth." Police said Abigail was last seen Oct. 9 after leaving Kennett High School in Conway. Police said she walked her normal route toward her house and sent several texts between 2:30 p.m.

Abigail Hernandez, the New Hampshire teen who’d been missing for nine months, was reunited with her family on Sunday.
Missing New Hampshire Teen Found
The details of Hernandez disappearance have yet to be revealed. Her mother Zenya Hernandez, FBI Special Agent in Charge Kiernan Ramsey and chief of the attorney general’s criminal bureau all expressed relief that Abigail Hernandez was safe and home.
"The long and short of it is, quite honestly, we are just happy that she's home safe and sound right now," Ramsey said Monday, according to the Boston Herald.
"We said all along, this was a child who was missing and we marshaled all our resources and we can gratefully say that she was able to be reunited with her family," Young said.
As for Zenya Hernandez, she told officials, “Today we are the happiest people on Earth.”

During a recent Ama chat with Guillermo del Toro on Reddit, the prolific director offered an update on the long talked about Hellboy III. The long and short of it? It's not good. Read on for details.
"The idea for [Hellboy III] was to have Hellboy finally come to terms with the fact that his destiny, his inevitable destiny, is to become the beast of the Apocalypse and having him and Liz face... that part of his nature, and he has to do it, in order to be able to ironically vanquish the foe that he has to face in the 3rd film."
"He has to become the beast of the Apocalypse to be able to defend humanity, but at the same time he becomes a much darker being. It's a very interesting ending to the series, but I don't think it will happen."

The long and short of it: Edgar Wright, of Shaun of the Dead / Scott Pilgrim fame who is unarguably adept and inventive about action-comedy (a unique skill given how unfunny action 'comedies' usually are), abruptly left over creative differences. Now from the roster of potential replacements (none of them even ⅕ as interesting as Wright), one has already fallen away. Any film that establishes a rigid set of rules, or features a massive recurring element that can reasonably be accepted as irrefutable internal logic should have a pretty easy writing process. The writers need only remember those rules, or that one thing that needs to be adhered to, without messing, and they can pretty much do whatever they want: in some ways the structure should be seen as a plus point in fact, especially in a franchise where diverse narrative rules can be as hard to keep track of as multiple, childish lies.
So, you’d think those writers would just write their rules down on a post-it and stick it next to their computer or something, which clearly doesn’t happen all the time, since so many rules are flagrantly broken in movies – sometimes within mere minutes of their establishment.

So here we are again – Pretty Little Liars gave us so much hope only to take it away just as fast, leaving us much like Aria last week, surrounded by the tatters of our clues and theories and wallowing in the truth that Ezra, of course, could never have been A. The moment at the end of season 4a was so delicious precisely because it was a shock – many of us had long given up hope that the show’s writers, so wrapped up in the epic love story of Ezria, would do anything interesting with the characters. The fact that their love story was so murky and immoral made the shippers fight harder and those...

Remember that scene in The Princess Bride, where Cary Elwes doubts the existence of 'rodents of unusual size,' and then is promptly attacked by one? Well all of us doubters could someday soon find ourselves in the same situation, according to University of Leicester's Dr. Jan Zalasiewicz.
A scientist from the England university's Department of Geology, Dr. Zalasiewicz firmly believes that rats will eventually grow bigger and occupy even more of the ecospace than they currently do, and he's got some pretty damn good points to support the wild theory. The long and short of it is that even the smallest of rodents have proven themselves nearly impossibly to eradicate when they find their way onto islands, and that they're so dominant that they've already managed to drive species native to those islands to extinction. "As a result, ecospace is being emptied," says Zalasiewicz, "and rats are in a...

Just days ago All Things D reported on the PS4′s estimated worth, courtesy of info uncovered by the apparently quite destructive research firm Ihs. This time around the expert dismantlers took a crack at the Xbox One, and though the results aren’t terribly shocking, Ihs did mine some interesting tidbits about the cost of Microsoft’s newest box compared to Sony’s.
The long and short of it is that the Xbox One costs about $90 more to make than the PlayStation 4, with a total estimated cost of $471 on the part of Microsoft. As with Sony, this leaves little room if any for profit, and the likely scenario is that an Xbox One sale becomes profitable only after the successful vending of one or two games to go along with it. Also like the PS4, the most expensive component found within is the Amd microprocessor: an impressive all-in-one hybrid...

This is the week when the newly-relaunched Weekend (or Weakened) Warrior gets a bit surreal. I've always been a person who likes to be transparent and open about things going on in my life, both with my friends and those who take the time to read what I write. It's pretty strange to have something happen in my life that has such a huge impact that I don't even know where to begin in explaining it to my friends or acquaintances, let alone people who barely know me. The long and short of it is that I've been diagnosed with acute leukemia, a rare type of blood cancer in which the bone marrow is not properly producing the white blood cells needed to fight infection, instead creating leukemia-infected white blood cells that take over the blood making it harder for the other blood cells...

What happens to emos when they grow up?
Quite a lot actually, and it varies. I learned this at Finch’s gig in Brixton Academy to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their debut album What It Is To Burn. The crowd was a definitive grown up emo of the last generation type of affair. Myself and my accompanying friend? We’d grown into hoodies-under-denim, tattooed, facial hair sporting c***s, but there was plenty of variety in the crowd – scene kids (or adults now), hipsters, punks, goths, metalheads and very mainstream (grown out of the attire) types. All bases were covered.
In all seriousness though, it was clear from the crowd everyone was here because they were into Finch the first time around and it goes to show Finch are a band who have appealed to all walks of musical life in their time. I myself got into Finch around...
Quite a lot actually, and it varies. I learned this at Finch’s gig in Brixton Academy to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their debut album What It Is To Burn. The crowd was a definitive grown up emo of the last generation type of affair. Myself and my accompanying friend? According to the Daily Mail, Roman Abramovich has made a sensational U-turn on Frank Lampard’s future and is set to open talks over a new contract for the England midfielder, who scored the winner in last night’s friendly win over Brazil at Wembley.
The Mail say talks about him staying are at a preliminary stage, with sources at Stamford Bridge insisting that the talks were ‘positive’ and the club will formalise things with a firm offer, though the precise terms have yet to be discussed. This comes after a fans’ protest at the player’s situation, which Chelsea owner Abramovich is aware of.
So far this season Lampard has scored an impressive 10 times in 17 Premier League games since coming back from injury, and is now second in the list of all-time leading scorers at the club – just five goals from equalling Bobby Tambling’s record of 202 in a Chelsea shirt.

While we still have yet to hear details about the next series of Star Wars movies, we can only hope they will be better than the prequels. That's not to say there weren't some things I like in episodes I-iii (the lava battle between Obi Wan and Anakin remains my favorite duel), but on the whole I think it can be done better. The following list is just a breakdown of three logical advantages and disadvantages I think the next three films will have that the prequels lacked. Enjoy and post your own thoughts below!
Advantage 1: Limited Lucas Involvement.
For fans of the original trilogy who still weep over the fact that Han shot first, then Greedo, then they both did or hates blinking Ewoks this is a huge plus for the new series. Good or bad, George Lucas can't change s*** once it's out. His limited involvement also...

Starz’s Boss was officially cancelled on the 20th of November, but for anyone familiar with how the television system works in the Us, the writing had been on the wall for quite some time. Why was it cancelled you might ask? Was it that bad? Was Kelsey Grammer just playing Frasier Crane again?
The long and short of it is that viewership figures in the States are what shows live and die by and Boss was no exception. It wasn’t all that bad either; in fact it was rather good, with Grammer giving a career best performance. But that means nothing when people aren’t watching. Grammer won the 2012 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama Series over such fan favourites as Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire) whose shows garner the viewership numbers to match the critical acclaim. Welcome back to Sons of Anarchy, folks! Last week, Jax (Charlie Hunnam) ended the episode hot on the tail of Juice (Chuck Zito), whom he knows has been something of a rat. And when Jax sets his sights on you, it's best to try and get out of the way. Without futher ado, here's what went down tonight in Charming on the FX hit series... What We Learned Lieutenant Roosevelt Meets With Juice: The long and short of it, for Juice, is that he needs to get the hell out of Charming. Jax is after him, and he's afraid of what will happen if the situation comes up in front of the group, so he's going a bit rogue. Roosevelt (Rockmond Dunbar) knows this, and he's giving Juice the chance to get...

So, the finale of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" kind of called to mind a drunken argument outside a college bar, which would be more amusing if any of these people ever a) went to college or b) were in their early 20s, when such abject stupidity seems to come with the territory. I could recap this blow by blow, but I'd rather not have a brain aneurysm and really, there's just no point. The long and short of it is this: a bald man named Angelo walks up to Melissa at the Posche Fashion Show (which seems neither posh...

When you consider the stealth genre, one series stands above all the rest: the Metal Gear series, which has been gracing consoles ever since its original release on Msx and Nes in 1987. The early games were revolutionary for their time thanks to their stealth and puzzle mechanics, and understandably wowed gamers. Fast forward to 1998 and “Metal Gear Solid” was released: a pinnacle of gaming on the original PlayStation, Mgs helped re-invent/invigorate the stealth genre.
Recently, Sony has been re-releasing some of the Mgs titles that followed that initial release, giving them the HD treatment (which we are seeing more and more of in today’s market). This Ps Vita HD collection comes hot on the trails of the PS3/360 HD collection with one glaring omission, the absence of the PSP title “Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.” While Peace Walker is compatible with the Vita – meaning...

Back in December 2010, DreamWorks announced they were developing a new film by the name of Me and My Shadow that would combine CG and hand-drawn animation, in a way that sounded more ambitious than most animated films we’ve seen in a long time.
All has been fairly quiet on that front since then, but now the studio have released the first poster, via the film’s official Facebook, and it’s rather fantastic.
“In Spring 2014, DreamWorks Animation brings global audiences Me And My Shadow, an original project that pioneers a groundbreaking combination of both CG and traditional 2D animation techniques.
Me And My Shadow is the story of an extremely frustrated shadow, Shadow Dan – voiced by Bill Hader, who yearns for a dynamic life. Unfortunately, Shadow Dan happens to be stuck with the world’s most boring human as his “caster”, Daniel Grubb – voiced by Tony Award™ nominee Josh Gad.

Our wonderful friends at Fox have released a brand spanking new poster to whet our appetites for the upcoming final season of J.J. Abrams acclaimed sci-fi hit show Fringe.
Many of the show’s fans will be well aware of the ongoing renewal/cancellation debacle that haunted last season. The long and short of it is, Fox were losing money on Fringe and they wanted Warner Bros., the studio who produce it, to give it to them for less. Finally, they were able to compromise on a reduced 13 episode final season, to the delight and relief of many.
It was a saga that in this humble reviewers opinion, ruined the ending to Season 4, given that the decision to renew was made after the end of the season. But you can read all about that here.
So what can we learn from the new poster about what’s in store for...

Arriving in theaters on a wave of press that has included much chatter about the film's budget, its reshoots and the expectations Disney has on the project, "John Carter" is not your ordinary tentpole in more ways than one. Rarely do films meet this kind of scrutiny on the way to the theater, but given the years in development this project has been through, and the new do-or-die, go big or go home ethos that Disney currently embraces, it was perhaps inevitable. But when the lights go down, the 3D glasses go on and the movie starts, it's all about what's on the screen and unfortunately for the studio and director Andrew Stanton, "John Carter" is a mess. Strangely uninvolving and needlessly convoluted, "John Carter" spends over two hours making the case for being a franchise, without ever really becoming a movie.
The film's problems are apparent right from the opening frame,...

Some still work under the assumption that reshoots are a bad thing. Simon thinks otherwise. And here’s why.
In the past few months, there appear to have been one or two corners of the Internet that have gone into panic mode over the news of two of the summer’s blockbusters scheduling reshoots.
Firstly, there was The Amazing Spider-Man, for which director Marc Webb shot some more material several months after production initially wrapped. And then there were rumours (which proved to be unconfirmed) of The Avengers reshoots, right at the start of this year.
Here’s a flavour of some (printable) comments, from an assortment of websites, that greeted this news:
”They are probably reshooting out of panic!”
”4 months to go and they're doing reshoots. this movie sucks.”
“Hmmmmm, I'm not sure what to make of reshoots. I honestly can't think of any movie that I heard that...

After winning half a million dollars when the New York Giants beat the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL playoffs last week, Rapper 50 Cent has taken to Twitter to challenge record producer Birdman to a $1 million Super Bowl bet for the New York Giants to beat out the New England Patriots! The Twitter fiend has also made a different kind of Super Bowl bet. And this one has nothing to do with money.
50 Cent teams up with Pauly D
The long and short of it is: If 50’s hometown team, The Giants, lose the Super Bowl, the rapper will publish a picture of his penis on the interwebs. This is what happens when the worlds of Twitter, betting and idiocy collide.
Say What ...?! Tim Gunn: "I haven't had sex in 29 Years"
This beautiful tale all began when one of 5.6 million Twitter followers, @MyBesetAssets, tweeted at the Candy Shop singer the racy proposition.

Microsoft have announced that the new Kinect for Windows hardware and accompanying software will be available on February 1st, 2012 in 12 countries: United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain). The package will be available, on a limited basis at first, through a variety of resellers and distributors and will include a 1 year warranty, access to ongoing software updates for both speech and human tracking, and Microsoft’s continued investment in Windows-based research and development.

When Roman Abramovich took over at Chelsea, few would have imagined that in 2011, the London club would not be the main spending power in the transfer windows, but Sheikh Mansour changed a lot of things when he took over at Manchester City, flooding the transfer market with the kind of millions that have made £50m and £35m deals for strikers in the last year a reality, as opposed to the perversity they should be.
What it means now is that Manchester City can effectively buy whoever they want, provided those players are buyable and willing to play for the club – a pool which has gotten vastly bigger since they found wealth beyond anyone’s wildest dreams, and qualified for the prestigious Champions League. So far this season, with key acquisitions coming in during the summer, and Premiership experience making those already on the books a better prospect all round, City have enjoyed an impressive time,...

“Anger as soon as fed is dead—tis starving makes it fat.” – Emily Dickinson
The latest episode of Wilfred isn’t as laugh out loud funny as I’ve come to expect from the show. I believe the fault for that belongs to Ryan’s sister Kristen. She’s an over-the-top shrew, and the show doesn’t know how to properly use her. A character like her works for one episode, but needs humanizing to be kept around. The episode does explore the reasoning behind Kristen’s personality, but this episode’s particular lesson (anger) feels like it should have been learned earlier. Having Kristen run off crying at the end felt like too little, too late.
Jason Gann really got to stretch his comedy muscles this time around. Wilfred becomes possessed (who knows if it’s real or not) by Ryan’s dead childhood dog, Sneakers, which is just hilariously creepy.

Anita* was a model employee. As CEO of my previous tech company, I had hired her to take charge of our bookkeeping and administrative affairs. When Anita came aboard, I asked what she wanted in order to feel fulfilled at work. "Harish, I want to do such a great job that you'll want to pay me a six-figure salary and feel great about it." This was a bit of a stretch--it was hard for me to conceive of bookkeeping as a six-figure position. After doing the math, I saw how with the right mix of hard work from Anita and better systems, she could indeed earn a justifiable six-figure salary. I wrote a work-incentive plan that had Anita making her target salary after 18 months, if she hit the right benchmarks. "You'll be worth every penny if you make these goals," I told her. I gave her a lot of autonomy...

I have been thinking about this for a while now and it is finally starting to come to a head when I read an article by Michael Abbott a professor who has some of the most intelligent posts of video games on the internet – just not this time. His latest article (It’s a B+ World) is off base because he tries to suggest that the video game industry has no originality and all triple A games are the same, and I have to disagree with this assertion. Personally I don’t believe there is a lack of originality in video games and even if there is, we gamers are the reason.
You read and hear it all the time how everything is the same in video games, and that 99% of games are first person shooters. However, I have to ask: are these people who are complaining about a lack of originality just not looking?...

Patrick Dempsey recently said that the upcoming eighth season of Grey's Anatomy is likely going to be his last. But is there any chance he could be back beyond that?
He didn't sound like it when he said that leaving would be “bittersweet because it’s been great and a great part of my life, but I can’t see me doing it anymore.”
Still, a rep for the actor backtracked a bit late yesterday.
"He was referring to the fact that his contract is up at the end of next season and we have no idea what the future holds," Dempsey's rep tells E! News.
So while there's still the possibility that Dempsey will hang up his stethoscope in 2012, especially if Ellen Pompeo packs it in, nothing is set in stone yet.
"No one has asked us to come back after season eight, so I couldn't presume that I'm coming back.

Could House really be without his Bff next year? Robert Sean Leonard makes it very clear in a new interview with TV Line: This my last season of House.
The actor says his contract is up and he wants to focus on Broadway, where he's returned to star in a revival of Garson Kanin’s 1946 comedy, Born Yesterday.
"I’m shooting my last episode now. Contractually, this is it," Leonard says. "There’s also no deal for House next year because Comcast bought NBC Universal and no one has a deal. If I do House next year it’ll be under a new umbrella. But legally and contractually, I’m free after this [season]."
The actor does leave a decent chunk of wiggle room, however, saying he'd miss a few episodes next season due to the play and also saying the season finale has nothing at all to do with Wilson departing.

This Week in DVD & Blu-ray is a column that compiles all the latest info regarding new DVD and Blu-ray releases, sales, and exclusive deals from stores including Target, Best Buy and Fry’s. The Fighter [*Warning: Obvious spoiler ahead*] Great care was paid to ensure that The Fighter be as authentic a true story as possible, which is also why its ending feels a tad misguided. Was it necessary to close the film on a note of uplifting triumph? That's the expected conclusion, certainly, and it's not as though there's ever a moment where The Fighter seems like it might be veering down a path that hasn't already been laid out for it in countless other sports films. But the humanity of the picture stems from its acrid family dynamics, and it's in those moments that the film transcends the genre in which it's forced to reside. In fact, so much time is dedicated...

The long and short of it is that rising young star Josh Hutcherson (if you want to feel old today, know that he was born in 1992) has been taking meetings with filmmaker Gary Ross regarding a role in the upcoming film adaptation of the immensely popular young adult novel, 'The Hunger Games'. He's probably on a list with a dozen other names, but the fact that he's letting us all know that he's in the running (and that he very much wants the part) allows us to make this news.
The role in question is presumably that of Peeta, the teenage boy who accompanies Katniss (a role that will supposedly be filled by Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence) to the Hunger Games, a gladiatorial battle to the death fought by the children of a post-apocalyptic America.

Well, this was a less than sweet birthday gift.
Paris Hilton held a blowout birthday party on Wednesday night, and she had a few uninvited guests. Who took quite the goody bag. Facebook user "Paz" writes that his friend Kevin told him he was getting into Hilton's 30th birthday bash, and that he could get him in, too. That's where the hijinks started.
The long and short of it -- read the whole story here -- the pair fully enjoyed the free drinks and expensive entertainment at the party, and when they found out one of her cake's would go to waste, they decided they just couldn't stand for it. Here's what happened:
I brush shoulders with the guy who resembles the head of security... "Hey man," I say to him with an air of I-know-what-i'm-doing. "The cake is in that room, right?" "Yes, sir," he acknowledges with a slight...

Fresh off the presses, our Sundance correspondent Kabelson has just sent over a transcript of the Q&A session for Kevin Smith's controversial film Red State (review here). Dig it!
Smith: Hi everybody. How’s everyone doing this morning? (cheers and applause) I’ll tell ya what, last night was a crazy night. Woke up this morning (1/24), I was like “Honey what did we do?”. She let me read a bunch of shit, I was like “Oh fuck no!” It was fun, last night we announced something we’ve been planning for a while. We are distributing Red State ourselves under SModcast Pictures. Like the movie style in the old days, like Gone With the Wind, take it from city to city to city. That’s the first part of it, for me, I am sure a lot of people took what I did the wrong way, and I...
