- American twin brothers, living and working in India have an extreme hatred for each other. Philip has embezzled a bank in India and is running away with intent to escape to America. He runs into his twin, David, on the train to Bombay. When David tries to cut himself in on the stolen money, the enraged Philip kills him. He then changes all his personal belongings, including identification papers, with those of David, since David is not the hunted man. In Bombay, Philip (now David for all intents and purposes) rushes to catch the ship for America. Two detectives stop him and ask for his papers. He satisfies them that he is David and, then, one of the detectives tells him...David, you are under arrest for the murder of your wife. Her body was found an hour ago."—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
- On a train from Kurdapur to Bombay, identical twin brothers, Brits David and Phillip Bartlett, who have been living in India, accidentally meet. The two, who do not get along, both seem to be running away. David is up front about the fact that he and his wife, Mary, have had yet another argument and have split. Phillip is initially a little more secretive about the reason for his trip to Bombay. David eventually learns that Phillip has embezzled money from the bank where he works. Both sense an opportunity, David who wants to blackmail Phillip for the nefarious act, while Phillip wants to take on David's identity to save himself from being caught for embezzlement. If Phillip is successful, he may have difficulty in running away from the unknowns in David's life.—Huggo
