Another social criticism that advocates reform
zzmale31 March 2004
The literal translation of the title of this movie is: The incident of Moon Gulf.

This movie is the sequel of Yue Liang Wan De Gu Shi (The Story of Moon Gulf) made a little earlier, and the cast is identical in both. Like the first one, this one also advocate reforms in China, but in addition to advocating agricultural reform, this second one also added the element of social criticism by criticizing the common phenomenon of people taking advantage of those who get wealth by working hard, a bad thing that comes along with the increased wealth, as a method for those lazy people to make big bucks easily.
