- Adult Sims can flirt and kiss each other, regardless of sex. They may also do so in various states of undress. When bathing or using the toilet, Sims' bodies are pixelated. Cats and dogs with a high relationship score may autonomously "snuggle", prompting the player to decide whether they want them to have a baby.
Violence & Gore

- Sims can die in various ways, however, the most violent method is when Sims are burned alive when a fire occurs at their home, causing them to scream in agony. Starvation and being burned alive are the only two ways in which cats and dogs can die. Parrots hang upside-down from their perch when they die (either from neglect or old age).

- The death of Sim characters, which can include children and pets, may upset younger audiences. With the Livin' Large expansion pack installed, there is the possibility that cats and dogs can be resurrected as zombies if Sims plead for the life of their dying pet with the Grim Reaper, causing them to have a green tint. Zombie pets can continue to breed.
