Yesterday was Valentine’s Day, and while you could have headed out to theaters to see The Choice with your significant other, or Deadpool if you have a much cooler better half, there’s a good chance that you stayed in to watch The Notebook for the 1,000th time. So if the favorite romance that started the […]

How many jokes about The Notebook have you heard today? No movie romance of the last ten years has generated more headlines – or aired more times on cable.
So it seems only natural that Screen Junkies would finally release their parody of the Rachel McAdams/Ryan Gosling flick just in time for Valentine’s Day. The trailer explains that The Notebook is there to remind us “no matter how much you love each other, you’re both going to grow old and die,” and that this is the film “that paved the way for people to form unrealistic expectations of their real-life relationships.

Today, like all Valentine's Days, scores of boyfriends across America will be forced to sit down and watch "The Notebook," the 2004 surprise hit starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. In honor of the movie, Screen Junkies have put out an Honest Movie Trailer for the film, trying to explain why such a mediocre movie has become a romantic classic.
"This Valentine's Day, revisit the film that reminds you that no matter how much you love each other, you're both going to grow old and die," the narrator says at the beginning.
Calling it the "Olive Garden of love stories," they implore audiences to really take a good, hard look at "The Notebook" and see if it deserves its status as a staple of romance movies.

Not all that glitters is gold on the radio, and often one must scratch below the glossy surface of the neatly pressed and homogenous music business where TV pop stars litter radio playlists. Thankfully there is a growing number of outlets that cater to every type of rock music. Here are some of my favorite new releases from October culled from press releases, Spotify playlists, satellite radio, and peer recommendations.
"3-6-9" Cat Power Sun (Matador) - Still measured genius after all these years; six years in fact since The Greatest. My favorite track is this upbeat, haunting, multi-layered, auto-tuned, electronica-tinged sing-a-long. This is the sound of New Jack City in the 21st century. More Pj than Joni, Ms. Chan Marshall brings the noise and funk on her ninth CD, and in doing so, raises the bar for her musical peers, both genders.
"Ramada Inn" Neil Young Psychedelic Pill (Reprise) - Wtf?...
