Sweet, cozy and morally valuable

This small and beautiful German cartoon series from the early 1990s was integrated into the children's educational program Sendung mit der Maus, which still exists today. Sendung mit der Maus is called "Program with the Mouse" in English. The program was a mixture of (in the sense of Humboldt's humanism, also educational) little cartoons, of which The Little Polar Bear was a part, and an explanation of scientific concepts, the education about natural issues or the demonstration of work processes and product manufacture. The little polar bear was drawn wonderfully sweet, telling great little stories of moral and emotional issues, a valuable institution of German television. It was not without good reason that this mini-series was the origin of an unfolding franchise with films, other series, but also books and radio play cassettes. One of the few masterpieces on German television.
