The Warner Brothers Booth was arguably the most flamboyant and atmospheric booths at this years E3 show floor. Black walls that nearly reached the high ceiling enclosed the Middle Earth: Shadow Of War game demos and their preemptive theatrical walkthrough. A massive dragon was on display up front for fans to take photos with, and they hired the tallest actors they could find to play towering orcs that playfully harassed folks in line. To top it off, a red ambient light shot up into the ceiling and somehow animated itself like an evil and encompassing aura. Next door was the Lego Dimensions booth, and a live stage where WB’s showed off more of their featured games
The theater demo, which consisted of a WB’s rep playing a siege real time for an audience (not to mention live for Twitch users), was troublesome. A game breaking bug forced a hard reset,...

Call of Duty: Infinite War
Call of Duty takes to the stars in the awesome new edition to the long-running franchise, Infinite War. In this version, you fight your enemies using gravity-defying bullets, dynamic explosives, spaceships, even the unforgiving vacuum space, among other things. Despite the many outcries from fans of CoD unhappy with the game, it’s gotten a lot of us at Cinelinx pretty pumped for Infinite War.

Days Gone was unveiled during Sony’s epic Press Conference, and the results were dynamic.

It was only Sunday night that I was out standing in the snow and rain at BAFTAs. Just when I thought I had gotten over the show, the video game BAFTAs have crept up on me and released their nominations on me.
Across 17 catagories, Journey has been nominated for 8. As with all the awards this year, The Walking Dead is right on its heels as it looks like the two games are set to slug it out one last time on March 5th.
In one of the most interesting nominations of the year, Far Cry 3 has been nominated for Best Story. This is going to get some stick from some, but not from me. I have been championing that games story and intent since I completed the game. Clearly a few of us Brits had our thinking caps on as we played through the game.
But perhaps, most surprisingly is...

A Q&A featuring the game's director Todd Papy gets into some of the what and why of the God of War prequel. Also: multiplayer!
The biggest piece of news from this morning's Q&A about God of War: Ascension: Kratos will no longer be struggling to open chests with frantic button presses. "The Ghost of Sparta" will straight up be smashing them open.
Chest-smashing aside, longtime God of War Game Director Todd Papy discussed some of the motivations and goals about Ascension's multiplayer, along with a shot-by-shot breakdown of the new footage they released recently. First and foremost, Papy wants to assure fans of the series that the new multiplayer mode will not come at the expense of the single-player. At the same time, one of their goals was to get the brutal violence of the single player into to team multi modes. Offering eight-player multiplayer (with teams from...

How’ve you been, Kratos? After two years of rumors and speculation, Sony confirmed today that a new God of War game will be coming to the PlayStation 3. Called God of War: Ascension, the game’s blood-drenched trailer (see below) suggests that it’s a prequel set before the Spartan warrior became the ash-covered “Ghost of Sparta.” And that’s pretty much all we know at this point. A spokesperson for Sony did say that more game details would be revealed next week. Until then, let us toast to the return of Kratos, who was named one of EW’s...

It’s been rumbling around the internet for some time now. But Kratos and his chains of Olympus are back on PS3 in what looks like what could be a prequel to the five games that are already out.
The trailer shows no actual gameplay footage but. That familiar voice of Titan Gaia can be heard saying “there was a time before Kratos became the Ghost of Sparta and before rage consumed him.”
The trailer and box art were released on Amazon.com but since then, the site seems to not be functioning properly. hmm.
If you have never played a God of War game, I strongly suggest you do as they are the best games of its genre. Fingers crossed then that this potential prequel keeps to the same recipe, but with some added innovation. And of course those all important massive boss fights.

Sony still hasn’t announced that a new God of War game is in the works, however that hasn’t stopped one retailer from taking pre-orders for God of War IV. South African retailer BT Games has allowed its customers to pre-order the unannounced sequel.
This is the same BT Games that outed the Jak and Daxter Collection as well as being the first to report on Mass Effect 3′s new multiplayer mode. So there is some history of BT Games outing major announcements before publishers come forward with the information.
Not to mention this is only the 5,000 piece of evidence to support the fact that another God of War title is in the works. Right next to Call of Duty Black Ops 2 this might be the worst kept secret in gaming. However, as always we will have to wait for Sony to make a formal announcement about God of War IV,...

God of War IV rumours have been showing up ever since God of War 3 was released and today we have a new one that seems to indicate that the game may actually be in development. The composer Timothy Williams who worked on Conan the Barbarian, Rise of the Argonauts, and DOTA2 has listed God of War IV as an upcoming title he will be working on in his resume.
Earlier last year the magazine PSM3 claimed the game would be released sometime in mid 2012 with a co-op gaming component. This rumour was from an unnamed source so believe what you will about the rumor.
The God of War franchise is way too popular for the series to end with the third installment; so it is almost a guarantee that there will be at least one more God of War game coming down the pipes. However, the game will probably not...

A job listing was found today that may indicate a new God of War game is on the way, or at least being developed. The job listing is for Sony’s Santa Monica studio, the studio that created all the PlayStation console games. Since the job listing is for Santa Monica Studio and not Ready At Dawn Studios (the makers of God of War portable titles) we can probably assume the God of War game being developed will be for PlayStation 3 or possibly Sony’s next generation console (not likely).

What happens when a group of airsoft enthusiasts square off against a group of military veterans? You’re about to find out in the Taiwanese action comedy “War Game 229″, which is set to hit theaters in its native land this month. When I first started reading about the flick, I figured the veterans would arm themselves with real weapons and start picking off the airsoft geeks one by one. Turns out, they just want to prove a point. I’m just as baffled as you, though, chances are, you don’t want to see it nearly as much as I do. And that, as they say, is perfectly okay. “War Games 229″ opens on October 28th,...

Torturous and terrifying, this twisted horror story – inspired by true events, sees an innocent group of friends hunted down by psychopathic ex-soldiers, who turn their country break into a bloody nightmare.
When the adventure seeking group of friends head off for a light-hearted weekend of mock warfare, they have no idea of the fatal traps laid out for them by heavily armed hunters who appear to be tracking their every move.
Finding themselves caught up in a deadly game of hide and seek, but clueless to why they are being targeted, the group’s mock guns and ammunition are no match for their unseen predators’ stash of barbaric weapons and landmines. As the murderers begin to pick them off one by one, slaughtering them in increasingly gruesome and barbaric ways, the group realise that deep inside the impenetrable forest, nobody is coming to save them.

Hey, they’re already making movies “based on” “Battleship” and a dozen other nonsensical boardgames, why not make a movie based on an ’80s arcade game, too? That game in question is none other than Atari’s “Missile Command”, which has been set up at 20th Century Fox to be developed into a feature-length movie. Writers Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, who last scripted a reboot of “Flash Gordon” and co-wrote “Dracula Year Zero” with director Alex Proyas, will take a crack at bringing the arcade game to life. What will they have to work with? Well, uh, in the game you sort of shot missiles up at a bunch of raining, uh, missiles thingies trying to destroy your “cities”. The original was a Cold War game, where I believe the foreign missiles were supposed to be, well, foreign, and you had to defend the homeland from them. That’s about it.

Sounds like Hollywood wasn.t willing to spend on anything challenging. Wonder why none of these video game to movie adaptations work? There.s a reason right there. But lowering the budget doesn.t necessarily mean skimping on effects. They say they.re planning to make the movie .more like District 9.. A good...
