This short comedy is based on a clever idea, but it is hard to tell how well it actually worked, because the print is so darkened and blurry that many of the details are obscured. As it is, you can still follow most of what happens, and it is no fault of the original film-makers that some of the detail has become indistinct over time.
Instead of riding on a train, which would have been a commonplace sight, the "Twentieth Century Tramp" starts off his trip on an airship. As things move along on the tramp's journey, it looks as if there were all kinds of details that are now a little hard to make out. If so, it might have been quite amusing in its original form, especially to audiences to whom this mode of travel would not have been so familiar.
