As of January 2021, the boat Glenstruan is still afloat and used as a houseboat on the Essex coast.
Submitted to the British Board of Film Censors by Esso Petroleum Co. Ltd. and passed with a "U" certificate on 23 November 1959. The BBFC records reveal that the print submitted had a length of 1814 feet (35 mm) and a running time of 20 mins 9 secs. Shell would usually sent the 35 mm version to cinemas and an optically reduced 16mm print to schools. When BBC2 was launched in 1964 Hook, Line and Sinker became one of their trade test colour films, being screened a number of times from 22 January 1964 to 3 June 1969.
