The very real Norwegian TV channel TV2 plays a huge part in the plot, and most scenes that take place at the network were shot at their Oslo headquarters. The offices of the fictitious talkshow are the real offices of the breakfast TV show "God Morgen Norge". The reception area however was not the real reception because - according to the director - the original reception just looks like any ordinary reception and not a TV-reception. However the female receptionist in the fake reception is actually one of the real receptionists from the real TV2 building.
The PR bureau with the glass and see-through office design (where the character Elisabeth works) was originally an advertisement agency that went bankrupt just weeks prior to filming.
A number of Norwegian celebrities appear as themselves. Among them: when the two lead characters Kristoffer and Geir first visit TV2 the woman in the elevator is Elin Tvedt. Shortly after the character Henriette invites them to a party where famous Norwegian parliament member (and former minister) Karita Bekkemellem Orheim makes a brief appearance. Later there is a premiere party for the featured talkshow where you can glimpse famous Norwegian fashion guru Kiki Sørum, Norwegien Big Brother-winner Lars 'Joakim Ringom', soap opera star Kim Kolstad and TV2 personalities Connie Barr and Stål Talsnes. At the scene in the stand-up café comedian Janne Rønningen appears as herself, and in one of the final scenes on the live talk-show the female guest is Synnøve Svabø, one of the most popular TV personalities in Norway.
The movie premiered in Norway on 29 August 2003, and it ran in Oslo theaters until 19 February 2004 which means it ran for six months in Norwegian cinemas - a rare feat for Norwegian movies.
