Lethe Tatge: Lethe Anderson

Quotes

  • Rachel Johnson : Oh she's pretty, she looks like a fairy princess.

[Lethe and Rachel looks at the photo album book]

Lethe Anderson : That's me that's my wedding picture.

Rachel Johnson : You look so young.

    Lethe Anderson : Well I wasn't always 83.

Rachel Johnson : How much more is 83 than 5?

Lethe Anderson : Too much, oh much too much. That's a picture of my husband Francis. Oh we were so happy together.

    [Turns the album page]

Rachel Johnson : And who are these babies?

Lethe Anderson : They're my babies.

    Rachel Johnson : 3 girls.

Lethe Anderson : No one's a boy. I'll show you a picture of them when they were grown up. Now that's Susan, and that's Myra and that's Richard, isn't he handsome?

Rachel Johnson : This is pretty.

    [Looks at the postcard]

Lethe Anderson : That's a card Myra sent. Oh speaking of postcards. Oh it's that time.

[Put's the photo album book away, then they both stand up]

  • Rachel Johnson : I'm cold. I'll think I'll go home.

Lethe Anderson : Alright darling I'll see you later sweetheart.

[Lethe kisses Rachel and she skips home. Lethe waits around by her mailbox. Finally a mail truck drives up and Mike honks the horn as he stops by Lethe]

Mike the Mailman : Hi Lethe.

    Lethe Anderson : Hello Mike.

Mike the Mailman : You know. I've been your mailman for 10 years now and I've always wondered. What do you do with your time when the days I don't deliver?

Lethe Anderson : I'd hate to admit it because it makes me sound old. But you know not long ago I've stood here for the best part of an afternoon, before I realized it was Veterans Day.

    [Lethe and Mike both laugh]

Mike the Mailman : I'm sorry. And I'm also sorry that the only thing I have for you is a utility bill.

[Mike gives the utility bill letter to Lethe]

Lethe Anderson : Well it's better than nothing. Not much.

Mike the Mailman : I'll do better by you tomorrow, bye bye.

Rachel Johnson : Bye bye Mike.

[Mike drives off in his mail truck and Lethe watches him drive. Then, she walks back to her house]
