I happened to watch this movie coming back from Japan. It was a pleasant surprise. The movie definitely has for lack of a better term the "Japanese spirituality" which seems to exist in one similar form or another in so many romantic stories in Japanese cinema. I think we just call it cheesiness, but it definitely doesn't get in the way. The real overall feeling of this movie is the "charming coming of age" tale that I remember feeling when watching Forsythe's "Gregory's Girl" or Truffaut's "Change de Poche". If anyone discovers a way to get a copy of this movie, please please please post it. I have had no luck in my search. Thanks! by R. (my first written movie review EVER)
