I like it
TheLittleSongbird8 August 2010
Granted, it is not the best show in the world, but I can think of worse at the top of my head. I agree the narration can be irritating and perhaps unnecessary, some of the story lines are predictable(not surprising, I have seen plenty of shows similar to this that fall into that trap) and the actress of Fliss is not great at all.

However, it is strikingly filmed, and has a great theme song. The writing is amusing, and the characters while somewhat clichéd are likable with nice personalities(ie. Kenny being a tomboy-ish sort of person), especially Rosie, and Caitlin Stasey as Frankie is an appealing actress and does a good job as leader of the group. And I love the quirky and hilarious little skits that are part of the girls' thoughts.

In conclusion, pretty undemanding but not too bad. 7/10 Bethany Cox

Pretty alright

This show is pretty okay, and I love it when the sleepover club and m&ms con each other like in the theme park episode. but sometimes the episodes are too much adventurous to be all-at-once part of a pre/teenager's life. I love how Frankie is, though; she's like, the leader of the pack and stuff...plus the actress is really pretty. But I don't like how Fliss acts...sometimes she just overreacts in the way she talks...

Overall, the acting could be improved, and the script and writing could be tweaked a little bit. Maybe a bit more characters every now and then. But nevertheless a good show to keep me entertained during weekday afternoons :)

OK well everyones saying that fliss is a crap actress.. are you saying that she doesn't know how to act or is that the way she's supposed to act because thats what her character is supposed to be like in the show. well i don't know what you people think but Kenny is my fav person not by her acting but the person she's like in the show. she is legendary and makes some of the funniest comments during the show. she is also crazy about sports. besides why did they stop the series =[ that just sucks oh and i think Kenny and Frankie are good friends in real life so yeah cos someone asked that question. they may not be the best actresses but what do you expect. it's a TV show and as long as some people enjoy watching it there shouldn't be any problem or complaining but it's your opinion.

SLEEPOVER CLUB IS COOL!!!!!!!!!

Here's one club that rules
videorama-759-85939124 February 2014
Here's a show that reminded of me being a teen and getting up to all sorts of mischief, and by gee, these girls really live. As in Blue Water High, Mortified, etc, being an educational show, there's always a message in each episode, the same same actress seen at the start and finish. As catching it when into season two, Morgan Griffith (Charlie), is really the only talent who's benefited from it, where overall the other actors do very well, their performance very natural, where kids are course are naturals. Rachel Watson as Teylah is quite good too, but none better, is the actress who plays the mean, sour prude Crystal, where I'm surprised I haven't seen in anything else. Her her suck up friend who tags along (Ruby Hall) overacts a little. I have also seen in another kid's show, where she's very good. Yes The Sleepover Clubs deals with all kinds of angsts, very familiar and important, some that are painfully all too common. The characters, of course, adapted from books are colourful, and of course, how could we forget the girl's arch enemies, The Blockheads, the lead Jason actually coming over as likable. It so reminded me of kids I knew. The magic however is in how bloody entertaining the show is made, where obviously it's made a successful adaption to screen. Even the song rocks. I wish a show like this was around when I was a kid. Fault note: I may'be mistaken, but I think different rules stated in this club, have been related to the same number, but who care really. Honestly, a highly recommended watch, not just for kids, as is Mortified, these actors of both these shows, knocking the Blue Water High actors off the shelf or leaving them to shame.

Actually Quite Good!

When i first had a look at this show i was skeptical. However, i found this quite enjoyable. Yes it is not exactly working the brain, however, the quirky plot lines, quick wit and good acting make this show worthwhile.

The characters are typical early teen girls who have the whole one minute hate the next love boys thing going on, they have the normal problems with the parents and teachers and of course within themselves as well. This is what makes the show quite reasonably believable.

The acting is great! Eliza Taylor-Cotter and Ryan Corr are definitely stand-outs, however that is not to say that the others are weak. Quite on the contrary, all produce effortlessly realistic, sensitive dramatic and cleverly funny performances.

The clinch of the show though are the little skits; what happens in the girls imaginations. They are absolutely hilarious. It's quick witty and clever humor all rolled into one.

Overall a quite decent show.

The Sleepover Club

In my opinion Fliss is most certainly the worst actor. In second its Kenny & Frankie. Lyndz and Rosie are most certainly the best. The story is fictitious and basic set in the area of Cresent Bay. The girls meet up for Sleepovers and face problems caused by there arched enemy the M&Ms! In my opinion the programme gets a 6 out of 10! Many of the actors are new to the film world! We have never seen the M&Ms group in anything before and Hannah Wang is rather quiet. Hannah Wang plays Kenny! A MANCHESTER UNited Fan! Lyndz is promoting her acting career i her new show! Check out The Sleepover Club then click Lyndz Collins and then explore! GO SLEEPOVER!

The Sleepover Club involves 5 girls who share there secrets, and while Lynz's brother is called Michael has his m8s the M&Ms Matthew and Marco are trying to make the Sleepovers life the worst.

Its situated in the lovely Australia, near the outback. Its placed by the gorgeous beach of Cresent Bay. I think the Actors/Actresses are very talented, as they aren't far off my age well some of them.

But if they can act why not, better than staying at home and not trying. If i saw them i would probably say they've made the right choice if thats what they want to do cause most teenagers don't know what to do. Ryan Corr is really fit too.

All the best to them.

Cute series for younger teens
nicetry20 December 2004
I read a rather bad comment of a person who's most clearly too old for that series ... please, if that'a all too light and easy for you just stop watching it! I think it's just delighting entertainment, and as such is much better that the same kind of series from the US. The actresses are cute, stories are common, not original, but OK. I think sometimes they loose their focus on that "sleepover" idea, but on the other side I missed the first half of the first season ... that might have changed ... (I didn't recognize that girl from the Pirates' series, which by the way {I wasn't allowed to shorten that ... "junk word"?!} was much more stupid!!!)

"Come on and sleepover!!" Erm, no thanks..
anxietyresister7 June 2005
This programme was not designed for me. Nevertheless, I feel obliged to comment because I have just been forced by a relation to sit through half-an-hour of it, and I honestly cannot recall a more painful 30 minutes in my life. The 'plot' is based around four female friends who seem to have a fetish of spending every night together alternating between each other's rooms (hence the title) while encountering the usual Teenage Dilemmas at school including boys, puberty, exams.. etc. But through their shared love for each other in this close-knit group, they overcome all obstacles in their path, because after all.. THAT'S WHAT GROWING UP IS ALL ABOUT!! (Pardon me, while I go and throw up)..

Diabolical acting, irritating narration, trite moralising, pathetic attempts at humour.. this abysmal effort has the lot, and then some. And even if I was a 14 year old girl, I would feel insulted at being force-fed sappy messages while getting no entertainment value in return. So if you enjoy a bit of healthy sermonising delivered by a bunch of young ladies with cotton wool for brains, this will be right up your alley. Otherwise, steer well clear.. 1/10

Sleepover Club will truly put you to sleep
Ikepoiyen66889427 October 2005
This programme is a JOKE. It is beyond me as to why and how people watch this show, the actors and actresses are woeful and i mean woeful, the story lines are ridiculous and Australians have lowered themselves in being the culprits of making this horrific joke of a programme. My two sisters watch it and i actually sometimes leave the room because i am offended by the poorness of the show. this programme makes me sick. The whole manchester united thing makes me upset as there name is automatically offended when mentioned in this programme. the worse actor is the fat girl with blonde hair, she has no idea what shes doing and she needs to take up serious acting classes. people who watch this show are people with low attention spams, people who are easily amused and people who don't understand the word "ACTING"

Sleepover Club ROCKS
loveinyoureye21 February 2004
The Sleepover Club is possibly the best tv programm, ever. I mean, its got everything, from a guy called Marco, to Fliss who is so obviously shagging all the guys. You have to be off your rocker not to like this programm. the reason you dont see them sleeping over is because its X rated. How stupid are you people? I watch this every monday with my friend Skye and its the best programm in the world ever, and Fliss will so obviously grow up to be the next Samantha from Sex and the City. So n your face!

WE LOVE THE SLEEPOVER CLUB!

awesome show!
vidhu-9129 September 2005
The programme 'sleepover club' is simply superb! In India almost every girl in her teens watches it.

Its is all about the five girls having fun at their schools & having sleepovers. There r also the three other boys called the m&m's who r always involved in spoiling their fun.

My favorite episode is the one when Frankie wins the elections.I feel Frankie is the best actress.she is really pretty & cool. She also has good leadership qualities & also a great sense of dress.I must say that Fliss is the worst of all.She sometimes tries to overact.Kenny is sort of a tomboy & also sportive.Rosie is kind & charming whereas,Lyndz is cute & simply dressed. to put it in a nutshell, I must say that its a wonderful & an awesome programme best suited for the weekends.

it depends on the point of view.
mandrjosh13 May 2005
to be honest, i am not particularly aware how Australians create their own television series, but what i can assume is that it is certainly NOT Hollywood-type, teeny-bopper series stereotype that most of us Filipinos are used to here.

the sleepover club, for me, offers a really refreshing view how Australian pre-teen life - blissful at least - is really like there. and i do admire and respect the producer's efforts to moderate certain issues in their series.

perhaps the best quality this show has to offer is that it features one virtue that most of us nowadays take fully advantage of....INNOCENCE. the fact that these kids would get on with their lives, have fun, break and remake friendships once more plus with quite astoundingly minimal adult supervision could really for me sound very achieving. many of my relatives who live there have always told me that the Australian psyche is always one that is generally warm, hospitable, open and liberal....quite apart to what you may experience in the US nowadays.

provided that these generalities are true, then this show will indeed have many more years to come....to keep up it's well-defined and poignant Australian life through the eyes of a child.

So crappy that it's laughable
miss_niss18 December 2003
I crack myself up watching this show, because this show is ridiculously pathetic, the girls are really bad actors and the story lines are so benial! 'Fliss' is the worst actor, and the narration at the beginning of each episode is just pretentious and annoying.

This show is inane, even for a kids show. Don't bother.

I only just recently realised that Rosie (Taylor-Cotter)is the girl who played the younger sister in another Australian written and produced program 'Pirate Islands'. That was a Jonathon M Shiff production and i have to say, much better than the Sleepover Club. Based on a series of novels, the idea of a club has been done way to many times, both on screen and on paper.

Eliza Taylor Cotter certainly has grown up from Pirate islands, she seems much older, and she stands out as a moderately good actor, at least in comparison to the rest of the cast.

Sleepover Club in three words

1) Annoying 2) Pathetic 3) Boring

The Sleepover Club just isn't good. The best actress by far is the girl who plays Rosie who has now went on to do the Australian hit Neighbours. The story lines are pathetic and are very predictable. The worst character and actor is Fliss, who puts no effort or emotion into what she is acting out!

It's pathetic and believe me not worth a watch! So Do something good with your time and bungee jump or something!!Well don't really do that cause you might hurt yourself, but just don't watch it, the actors are bad the story lines are boring and all of it is very predictable!

I agree with the previous review, that the Sleepover Club is so bad its entertaining.

The acting is pretty bad. Particularly that of "Fliss", who cannot act at all. She is also the least likable character imaginable.

The story lines are typical, corny stories, where the 'SOC's' are the heroes and everything works out OK.

As awful as the acting, as cheesy as the stories and as TERRIBLE as the theme tune may be, the show is actually entertaining. Of course, I watch it to laugh, but find myself watching it a lot. At least its entertaining, that is the purpose. Just maybe not entertaining in the way that it was intended.
