Compelling and powerful
ndunham26 July 2004
This film opened up this year's AFI SilverDocs festival and is a very important work. Although not as technically masterful as other documentaries, the film makers have wisely and with a gifted eye focused on the stories of the children who participate in the Seeds for Peace camps. Seeds for Peace takes teens and young adults from generational war torn areas, specifically the middle east, and place them in a camp whose curriculum is designed to break down the identification of enemy. The work is tremendous, but it's the kids, their stories both before, during and after camp and what goes in their decision to chose peace that is compelling. Highly recommended.
