Don't watch this movie!!!

Warning: Spoilers
This is with out doubt the worst danish TV-series that has been made, rigth before 'Absalons Hemmelighed'. It's bad directed and the actors, especially the child-actors, sucks! It is SO bad thought out. There are so many mistakes, and loose ends that doesn't compare with the rest of the movie. Don't ever watch it. It's about a 12 year old girl that finds a time machine that takes her to Jerusalem year 12. She meets Jesus him self and they fall in love with each other. And somehow Jesus comes to the future and finds out that he's gonna die early, so he wants to become a gladiator. And now everything is chance in 2003. It's all evilness and there is only hate. But in some way Josefine successfully save it all for Christmas eve. DON'T WATCH IT!

Don't misunderstand me. There's a lot other good danish movies fx'The green butchers'.

From a children's point of view
re-8426 December 2006
I don't agree with the other harsh judgement I read here about this series. It came out twice in German Children's channel over Christmas (2005 and 2006) and Germans are known to be quite critical when it comes to TV series around Christmas time. There must have been a statistical research underlying this decision to repeat it another year. May be the quality is sufficient for children, who have a lot more imagination and are far more interested in a good story and less interested in good actors.

My two daughters saw it both years and this year they enjoyed it as if it was new. Apparently it is fascinating for them to image what would happen when .... and to realise that Jesus has been child with the same struggles like they have. It is an attempt to explain the meaning and consequence of Jesus' birth for today's children. I recommend it to parents who are not afraid to expose their children to Christian content, like prayer, struggle between good and evil and childlike trust in God.

one of my favorites!

Of course, there are many mistakes, but it would be way to difficult to remedy them all. But I don't really care about those mistakes, because other things are really good. I mean, I totally understand it when adults seem to dislike this. It's made for kids. And kids aren't that critical about such mistakes. "Jesus & Josefine" used to be my favourite series. And still, I love watching it. 10 out of 10! definitely! When you love Scandinavian youth movies, I recommend this for sure!

I have never seen "Oscar & Josefine" but it seems to be quite the same, only in the Middle Ages. So if you can't get enough of that blone, a must to!

A good story

Warning: Spoilers
As the story goes (you probably heard it in church on christmas day or eve) it happened in those days etc...

(Warning: contains spoilers)

Josefine is tired of her birthday playing second fiddle to the birth of jesus. So for about 16 episodes she lets the vitriol get the better of her.

She wont see the bigger picture & when she gets the chance to meddle in the past, she takes it (Unaware of the consequences).

Its a brilliant perspective of what jesus' life was like as a pre-teen (as they say nor much is known). What would he have wanted to become if he wasnt chosen to be the son of god. What dreams he had.

The frustration shows when Josefine is forced to tell as it is, jesus wont accept it & gets mad.

All the while Thorsen (the devil) lurks in the shadow & when he has his way everyone will be shoveling coal after Jesus gives up on what he is destined to be.

His one quote (in danish): er der noget jeg ikke kan fordrage, saa er det mennesker som hedder jytte. De er skingerende skoere. Jytte the teacher is passionate but not "skoer" (crazy).

Yet in the end it all clicks & everything returns to normal.

How they build another story around the story jesus birth impressed my grandmas priest that she got it on VHS tape during a meeting.
