Dogs in the Basement is a mock documentary that is so real it's eerie. It follows a couple having sexual problems as they try to solve them. They visit a variety of "professionals," with wild results.
I really felt for the characters--while many of their trials and tribulations are very funny, there was at least one moving scene that brought tears to my eyes. That was a surprise, since I expected to spend the whole film laughing at them. The key is that the actors playing the main characters throw themselves completely into it and are entirely believable. They really don't seem to know what's coming next, and deal with it just as real people would.
This film is definitely worth seeing.
