Of late, there have been some extensive debates, conversations (and unfortunately) arguments too over the whole insider v/s outsider phenomenon. While this could well be true for any industry, it gets noticed the most in Bollywood due to the glamour quotient involved with it. There are some insiders who are successful but then there are also outsiders, who have made Bollywood their home.
Three such major stars who have been successful in making that happen for them are Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and John Abraham.
Shah Rukh Khan’s story is what legends are made of, Akshay Kumar has been an epitome of hard work while John Abraham has been all about making his choices count. While Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar’s story goes three decades back in time, even John Abraham has been consistency personified, what with an initial struggle that goes more than two decades back.

It seems like Krushna Abhishek has got into a habit of apologising to his guests who come to promote their upcoming films on his popular roast TV show Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza. He has miffed yet another Bollywood star who also walked out of the show. Last month, Krushna apologized to actress Tannishtha Chatterjee who had expressed her anger on her Facebook page after he made fun of her dark skin tone by asking her questions like "aap ko jamun bahut pasand hoga zaroor… kitna jamun khaya aapne bachpan se?" And now the latest celebrity to fall prey for Krushna's roast is none other than the Bollywood hunk John Abraham who lost his cool on the show. John Abraham was on the show to promote his upcoming film Force 2 along with his co-star Sonakshi Sinha two days ago. Everything was going right until Krushna started cracking jokes on his...

”Silver Screen” by Fawzan Husain is a series of images taking a closer look at our prolific film industry “Bollywood”.
Everything that is so essentially ‘Bollywood’…the varied components that come together, and work in harmony to make a film are depicted in Fawzan’s photographs. He shoots a different view of Bollywood by capturing behind the scenes action on the sets: no frontal portraits, no posing for his camera. His photographs portray the real picture, the real people without the glamour, artifacts and ‘larger than life’ idea usually associated with Bollywood Silver Screen led him to `Beyond Silverscreen’. A look at how we Indian’s have fascination with our Filmy folks. Once he started looking around, he could see them all around, Apart from the billboards he could find them in restaurants, on Kites, in gyms, in rickshaws. Some were using them as decoration while some to lure their fans or crazy customers,...

Paap starred John Abraham and introduced Udita Goswami, while Rog was directed by Himanshu Bhrambhatt. Both films were produced by Pooja’s banner Fish Eye Network.
We spoke exclusively to Pooja earlier, and she told us just how much this achievement means to her: “Paap has been a true example of a synergy between India & Pakistan at a time when relations between both countries were cold to say the least. How can you separate the music of Paap-Ali Azmat’s Garaj Baras & Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Mann Ki Lagan from the film itself? Hence my decision...

New Delhi, May 3 – Model-turned-actress Udita Goswami feels she has not got her due in Bollywood, which she is worthy of after doing quality work in films like ‘Rokk’ and ‘Paap’.
‘I haven’t got my due in Bollywood which I should have got till now. I have given films, done meaningful roles that not all actresses get. I feel the reason for my being on the backfoot could be that I don’t believe in public relation (PR) practices, which have become a regular routine for any celebrity,’ Udita told Ians in an interview.
‘But.

Udita Goswami, who has made an image of a glamour film after doing films of Bhatta camp, is going to be seen in a non-glamorous role in her forthcoming film Rokk going to be released in the first week of March. We had a small chat with her in the office of IkKon Film about her carrier and Rokkk. Why did you agree to do this film? Films like Paap, Zahar etc had bound my acting in a glamorous image and everyone was offering me the sme kind of roles. I wanted to break out of this typed image but it was notforthcoming. Indian filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his daughter, actress-turned-director Pooja Bhatt, have been invited by Pope Benedict XVI to attend a papal meeting with artists from around the world in Vatican City this month.
The Bhatts will be among more than 260 artists—representing painting, sculpture, literature, music, dance, architecture, theater, and cinema—at the event, which will be held on November 21st in the Sistine Chapel—a room in the Vatican covered with Michelangelo's frescos, which are arguably the most famous examples of Western art.
Vatican officials said they hope the meeting will improve the Church's relations with the global artistic community and create opportunities for collaboration. While the Catholic Church was once a primary sponsor of art, the two have become, in the words of a Vatican spokesman, "estranged" in modern times, both for ideological and stylistic reasons.
The Vatican chose the invitees based on leadership in their fields, not religious background.
