- One musical number depicts the heffalumps as intimidating creatures threatening Pooh and friends, although it's imaginary.
- When Roo enters Heffalump Hallow, a heffalump follows him. At first it may seem a bit scary, but the heffalump is revealed to be friendly.
- A bit of suspenseful music plays as Roo slowly enters and then makes his way through the thick forest where the mysterious heffalump may be lurking. Later, and while trying to retrieve his rope from a stream, we see the POV of something approaching the dock Roo's leaning off. Roo then hears something in the reeds behind him and cautiously goes to investigate. He then finds a huge door and gulps as he slowly goes inside, but once he and young viewers see that a heffalump is just a playful elephant, the suspense regarding the creature will be gone.

- Lumpy bumps into Pooh's honey pots a couple times, eventually he destroys them unintentionally when shutting the door.
- Characters get caught in traps quite a few times, but none of the traps actually hurt them.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- When Pooh and the gang find out about Lumpy they end up capturing him, he gets stuck in a trap in one scene and another get tied up. Roo however stops them.
- Roo gets trapped in a pile of large tree logs, but is rescued.
