Since his demise, fans have clung to the hope that he might return, especially with the Multiverse Saga unfolding. However, Feige has repeatedly stated that Iron Man won’t be making a comeback, as it would diminish the emotional impact of ‘Endgame.’

In 2008, comic book movies were just starting out. Films like ‘X-Men’ and ‘Spider-Man’ showed what comic book movies could achieve when done right. Then, Marvel Studios came along and changed everything. ‘Iron Man’ marked the beginning of the MCU and set a new standard for superhero films. It’s had a huge impact, sparking a phenomenon that transformed cinema forever.
The movie was a box-office hit, received critical acclaim, and earned numerous awards for the studio. That’s why, even years later, it’s still remembered and cherished. In a recent interview with People, Jon Favreau shared insights into making ‘Iron Man,’ particularly how real-life banter between Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow inspired the film’s dialogue.

It all makes sense why Taylor Swift has turned out to be one of the most prolific wordsmiths of the 21st century as poetry seems to reside in her blood. And following her lyrical chops, it comes as no surprise that the pop queen is linked to one of the most important figures in American literature, Emily Dickinson.

Taylor Swift Changes Profile Pics to Black-and-White, Possibly Teasing reputation (Taylor’s Version)
Taylor Swift has changed all of her profile pictures across social media to black-and-white, prompting speculation that she may be teasing the release of reputation (Taylor’s Version). Update: After she won the award for Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights at the 2024 Grammy Awards, Swift made an unexpected announcement: she will be releasing a “brand new” album, The Tortured Poets Department, on April 19th.
The mysterious move was noticed on Sunday morning, when eagle-eyed Swifties reported that Swift’s profile pictures — a shot of her from the artwork of Midnights — were switched out for black-and-white versions. If Swifties’ cryptographic skills are on-point, this could be a reference to the black-and-white aesthetics of Swift’s 2017 release, reputation.
Backing Swifties’ case, there have been murmurs of a forthcoming reputation re-release for a few weeks. For starters, since the arrival of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) last October, reputation and Swift’s self-titled debut...

Ever since Taylor Swift released "Reputation" in 2017, fans have been trying to unpack exactly who and what the songs are about. "Reputation" arrived during a particularly drama-filled moment in Swift's life; most notoriously, she was in the thick of her infamous feud with Kanye West and his then-wife Kim Kardashian, and it certainly seems like "Reputation" was her official statement on all that. There was also a lot going on in Swift's life in the love department, and the album also seems to trace the whirlwind early days of her romance with Joe Alwyn, whom she began dating in 2017 and split from in April 2023. Her relationships with Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris may have also gotten a few special mentions, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. With "Reputation," Swift had a lot to say - and she certainly did not hold back.

Taylor Swift announced the official release date for "1989 (Taylor's Version)" this August, but some fans have their eyes on what they think will be the next rerecording after that: "Reputation (Taylor's Version)." Fans got a small preview of one of the album's songs when a snippet of "Delicate (Taylor's Version)" surfaced from a season two episode of "The Summer I Turned Pretty" on Aug. 3, indicating that the rerecorded version is definitely in progress. And on Aug. 23, Amazon Prime Video released the trailer for its upcoming series "Wilderness," and it features the first snippet of "Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor's Version)."
However, fans may still have to wait a while for the album, as Ed Sheeran - who appears on the track "End Game" on the original "Reputation" - revealed this summer that he hadn't yet been back to the studio to work on the new version. In an Aug.

Thanks to the 15-year-long machinations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, much of superhero cinema has become about — on a fundamental level — the elaborate, interconnectedness of its own widespread universe. While each individual superhero film may have its own miniature climax and any number of fantastical fist fights between supernaturally fueled pugilists, many of them now end with a hint or a preview as to the next chapter in a seemingly unending film series. The notion of a standalone superhero movie is more or less moribund.
This, perhaps, unfortunately, leaves many superhero movies feeling frustratingly empty. One would have to engage in some pretty difficult cognitive cardio to find the messages and the themes in something like "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." Is it about the dangers of fascism? The bonds of family? The eternal fight between good and evil? Couldn't any of these themes be applied to any superhero movie?...

The Ant-Man movies are comfortably part of the cinema landscape today. However, when the movies were first being developed, fans and the creatives weren’t sure how the oddball character would translate to film. After some behind-the-scenes misfires, Paul Rudd and the Marvel team landed on an interpretation that audiences loved.

When Jon Favreau stepped onto the red carpet for the Season 3 premiere of “The Mandalorian” on Feb. 28, the Disney+ show’s creator and executive producer was feeling nostalgic.
“It’s been a while since we’ve been all together here like this,” Favreau told Variety, evoking the November 2019 premiere for the launch of the show — and of Disney+ itself. “It was before the first episode aired!”
At that time, “The Mandalorian” was a scrappy landspeeder in the vast “Star Wars” galaxy, nipping at the heels of “The Rise of Skywalker,” the culminating feature film from director J.J. Abrams that was expected just a month later to obliterate the box office like a cinematic Death Star. Instead, “The Mandalorian” became a global sensation thanks to the incandescent cuteness of Baby Yoda, blasting Disney+ into light-speed with 26.5 million subscribers in its first six weeks.

Fans of NCIS: Los Angeles will have to wait a little longer for the series finale of the hit CBS series, but there's some good news.
According to Parade, the series-ender has been shifted to Sunday, May 21, 2023.
The good news is that it has been expanded to a two-hour event, which is far more exciting for a show ending after 14 seasons.
Saying goodbye will be difficult, but a proper ending has been crafted thanks to the show getting a heads up about NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 being the last season.
Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill opened up about the difficult task of ending the arcs for the characters.
He acknowledged a satisfying ending is tough "because there's so much expectation, and how do you live up to that?"
Gemmill said that the best foot forward was to focus on the characters one-by-one and examine how to put them in a happy place in their lives.

It's amazing how much a narrative can change in just two weeks. "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quntumania" debuted with a record-setting $106 million on its opening weekend, a franchise-best for "Ant-Man" and yet another win for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This being the first film in Phase 5 of the MCU, which is all leading to "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" and "Avengers: Secret Wars," it was really important for Marvel Studios and Disney that this film performed well. So hey, it looked good out of the gate, despite the very mixed critical response (read our spoiler review here). Unfortunately, the long-term outlook is looking not-so-great and one has to wonder what that might mean in the grand scheme of things.
In its third weekend, "Quantumania" lost handily to "Creed III" and took in a mere $12.5 million. That represents a 61% drop week-to-week, which is particularly bad news given that director Peyton Reed's...

Prime Video has released the first trailer for "Citadel," its long-gestating spy action thriller series, executive produced by Joe and Anthony Russo and starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. All four creatives were on hand with showrunner David Weil for a virtual press conference, which doubled as a trailer launch event, live from Los Angeles today.
It's been a long road for "Citadel" to the small screen, and along the way, the series has racked up one of the biggest budgets of any TV show ever made. This is nothing new for Prime Video, which also spent almost half a billion dollars on season 1 of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power." However, "Citadel" is attempting to create a new global franchise, with this first seven-episode series, led by Madden and Chopra, kicking off a slate of international spin-offs set in places like India, Italy, and Mexico.

As MCU overlord Kevin Feige tries to add those golden statues to his own Infinity Gauntlet of awards, we’ve seen an uptick in “For Your Consideration” nods. The first Iron Man movie debuted in 2008 and introduced the world to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When a Marvel film hits theaters, they are events. People eagerly anticipate the continuing adventures of their favorite Marvel characters and tend to go back week after week after week giving the films legs that other movies would be envious of. Even though Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania won its second weekend with $32.2 million, that number represents a 70% drop off which is officially the largest second week decline in Marvel Cinematic Universe history. Something I did not expect when I said it would “Easily win the weekend.” Of course this threequel had further to fall than its predecessors, as it opened to a franchise best $106.1 million while the original Ant-Man opened with $57.2 million and lost 56.5% in its second weekend and its sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp opened to $75.8 million and lost 61.6% in its second weekend.
So the question now is: why did this one hit such a massive wall in its second weekend?...

When the Marvel Cinematic Universe began with “Iron Man” in 2008, star Robert Downey Jr. was 43 years old. At the time, Xochitl Gomez was two. “I literally didn’t live in a world without it,” the “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” star points out.
And she’s far from the only new face in today’s MCU who grew up as the franchise took over pop culture. In 2008, “Ms. Marvel” breakout Iman Vellani was six years old. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” actress Dominique Thorne was 10. “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” star Kathryn Newton was 11.

It’s official: Avatar: The Way of Water has sailed past Titanic at the global box office with 2.243 billion in global ticket sales to become the No. 3 movie of all time, not adjusted for inflation.
James Cameron, who directed both films, lays claim to three of the four top-grossing movies in history.
Titanic, which had amassed 2.194 billion in worldwide ticket sales before a global 3D rerelease, stands at 2.242 billion globally.
The all-time list is topped by Cameron’s original Avatar (2.92 billion), followed by the Russo brothers’ Avengers: Endgame (2.79 billion), according to Comscore.

This post contains spoilers for "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania."
"The Blip" is such a dismissive name for what might be the most significant event in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At the conclusion of the Russo Bros. 2018 film "Avengers: Infinity War," the genocidal warlord Thanos (Josh Brolin) has accumulated six magical gems that allowed him to, essentially, do anything he desired. Being hellbent on death, Thanos willed half of the universe's entire population into oblivion. Perhaps to be dramatic, Thanos snapped his fingers to enact his wish, leading MCU fans to refer to the mass murder as "the Snap." A sizeable part of me wishes the MCU had ended at that moment. The actions of the heroes attracted the attention of a madman, their formation of a freelance military wasn't clever enough to stem the spread of militant death, and their story ends with eradication. It's tragic, it's bleak, and evil wins.

Spoiler Alert: This story discusses major plot points, including the ending and the post-credits scenes, for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” currently playing in theaters.
At this point, even casual followers of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are likely aware that “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” launches Phase 5 of the MCU. What that means is a bit fuzzier to define.
To start, there’s the whole idea of “Phase 5” as a discrete unit of measurement within the larger Multiverse Saga, especially since Phase 4 wound up feeling like the least cohesive the MCU has ever been. A few titles did link together — “Black Widow” flowed into “Hawkeye”; “WandaVision” set up “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” — but that feeling of a single, larger story coming together that made the MCU so thrilling in the Infinity Saga didn’t quite cohere in Phase 4. How can “Quantumania” start a new phase if what...

For the more casual moviegoers in the audience, one of the most jarring aspects of "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" is the age of Cassie Lang, now played by Kathryn Newton. In the first "Ant-Man" movie she was an adorable little six-year-old; now she's an 18 year old whose first scene finds her getting out of jail for the second time. Cassie just as rebellious as Scott (Paul Rudd) was around her age, which is terrifying for Scott. How'd she change so much in seemingly so little time?
The answer is fairly simple: the snap happened, followed by a five-year time jump in "Endgame," followed by a few years of normalcy after the blip brought everyone back. As one of the 50 percent of people who didn't vanish from the snap, Cassie has aged far more than other young characters in the MCU in the same amount of time. That creates the...

This article contains spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
“I have so many names…” Yes, that’s Al Pacino speaking as the titular fallen angel in The Devil’s Advocate. But the line may apply just as well to Kang the Conqueror, the new supervillain played by Jonathan Majors in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, who’s poised to menace the Avengers and the MCU from now until at least 2026—when some kind of massive showdown will take place in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Of course regular MCU viewers have already met one version of Kang previously thanks to the last episode of the Disney+ series Loki. There he was billed as He Who Remains. His stated mission on that series? To keep the multiverse (and the multitudes of much more malevolent Kangs in them) contained. It’s also a goal which ended with his death at the hands of Loki variant Sylvie.

The first Avengers movie may feel like small potatoes now compared to the increasing scope of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. But even as we see more and more heroes team-up to fight against forces that seek to control the multiverse, there’s no denying the impact that The Avengers still has on fans to this day. Maybe it’s because I was fourteen when I saw it for the first time, but the now iconic shot of the original six Avengers standing together during the Battle of New York is seared in my memory to this day as one of the coolest MCU team-up moments. This scene may not be as epic as the portals scene in Avengers: Endgame or as tense as the airport fight in Captain America: Civil War, but for many Marvel fans this was the first time we saw a team-up of this scale on the big screen.

Who would have known when "Ant-Man" debuted about 8 years ago that Scott Lang's (Paul Rudd) trilogy of bite-sized family-friendly adventures would eventually become the entire center of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Three words would change the fate of the Avengers forever: The Quantum Realm. It was a concept first mentioned in 2015's "Ant-Man," discovered by scientist Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) with his invention of Pym Particles, which allows the user to shrink and grow beings or objects to different sizes. Together, Hank and his wife, Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) were the original heroic duo, Ant-Man and The Wasp, until Janet sacrificed herself to disable a nuclear weapon by disappearing into the Quantum Realm.

From the twins in "WandaVision" to Ironheart to America Chavez, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is pretty clearly setting up the Young Avengers. Aside from the fact that so many of us want to see a new generation of superheroes, the actors portraying the Og Avengers may very well want to move on to other projects.
Either way, it certainly appears that this is the plan. Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) will likely join that anticipated group as Stature or Stinger, monikers she took up for her superhero persona in the comics. Though we learned about the daughter of Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) in the first two "Ant-Man" films and "Avengers: Endgame," we're getting to know her now as a young adult in "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania."

“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” doesn’t need to make a billion dollars at the box office to be a hit for Disney and Marvel Studios. But considering that it begins the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s build to the next two “Avengers” movies in 2025 it needs to do better than the two “Ant-Man” films that preceded it.
Marvel Studios is still as reliable a moneymaker for Disney as it has ever been, but the consensus among fans seems to be that most of the films and Disney+ series since “Avengers: Endgame” — known together as MCU’s Phase Four — haven’t been as good as the buildup to the big showdown between the Avengers and Thanos.
In 2022, Marvel released three films that were box office hits: “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” (952.2 million worldwide), “Thor: Love & Thunder” (760.9 million) and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” (830 million). But since the pandemic, Sony...

Following the conclusion of the "Infinity Saga" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a precedent was set for large-scale stories that end on explosive notes. The back-to-back "Avengers" films "Infinity War" and "Endgame" became the gold standard for naturally built-up event films in the MCU. The "figure it out as we go along" approach seemed to give the first three phases of the MCU a magic touch, making it feel as though the studio wasn't trying too hard to make everything connect. While there were some forced set-ups in movies like "Avengers: Age of Ultron" to establish Thanos as the big bad, the layout and release schedule of the films stuck the landing in a beautiful ending for certain characters and the promise of more adventures still to come.

Almost 15 years into the Marvel Cinematic Universe experiment, comprising 30 total movies (and counting) and dozens of hours of television, even a franchise like this runs the risk of eventually feeling a little stale. Just don't tell that to head honcho Kevin Feige and his army of talented collaborators. The Marvel braintrust has worked tirelessly to stave off the inevitable for as long as humanly possible, refusing to rest on their laurels after completing the so-called Infinity Saga and instead gearing up for yet another massive, multi-project storyline.
This one, by all accounts, will pit our remaining Avengers against the threat of the fearsome Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), introduced on the big screen for the first time in Peyton Reed's "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania."
While early reactions to the newest Marvel movie have come in somewhat mixed-positive, I couldn't help but wonder if the creative team approached the...

James Cameron is an unquestioned master filmmaker, one of many living among us today, alongside the likes of Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, and quite a few others. But there is only one king of the box office and that honor belongs to Cameron alone. Case in point, this past weekend saw the filmmaker dominate the charts with "Avatar: The Way of Water" and "Titanic" coming in at number two and three, respectively, at the domestic box office. Mind you, this is the ninth weekend for "Way of Water" and 25 years after the initial release of "Titanic." That is impressive stuff.
The sequel to 2009's "Avatar" took in 6.8 million, while "Titanic" earned 6.4 million. Both movies added to their respective, ever-growing totals, putting them further out of reach for any other movie hoping to fight for a spot on the all-time, highest-grossing charts. Currently, that list is topped by "Avatar" (2.92 billion) and,...

For some people, football is not the most exciting part of the Super Bowl. There's so much else competing for viewers' attention! The tastiest party snacks of all time are consumed on Super Bowl Sunday, along with the most polarizing halftime shows. Between bites of chips and dip, those watching at home delighted in seeing new commercials and highly anticipated trailers during breaks from last night's hard-hitting game. Budweiser Clydesdales and Pepsi ads always abound, but we're to celebrate this year's upcoming releases.
Super Bowl Lvii featured the Philadelphia Eagles playing against the Kansas City Chiefs, along with superhero-themed trailers, cheeky commercials, and a dazzling halftime performance by Rihanna. Throughout the event, film buffs saw sneak peeks of several projects to see in 2023. As Variety noted, major studios are more willing to promote their titles now than earlier in the Covid-19 pandemic. Studios individually paid as much as 7 million to...

If the trailer for the next "Guardians of the Galaxy" film is any indication, it will be a bold, climactic finale to one of the best superhero groups in the MCU. The first two "Guardians" movies were surprisingly emotional underneath their goofy, lighthearted surfaces, whereas this third film doesn't even hide the fact that it plans to make us cry. "This is the big one," writer-director James Gunn told Entertainment Weekly. "This is where things really happen. This is where we get to know the truth about who these characters are, and we face the biggest stakes."
Of course, we'd forgive superhero fans in particular for being a little skeptical. We've seen plenty of trilogies before, and it's become common wisdom that the third film is always the worst. "The amount of good third episodes in a trilogy, I can count them on one hand," Gunn himself admitted. "Basically, there's...
