Sex & Nudity

  • There is a scene in which the men mold plastic explosive into a penis. The officer doing the training makes crude jokes unknowningly about the penis that are vulgar. He describes having sex, but only figuratively, and the plastic explosive exploding when it is stuck in a detonator. There is a sex scene later on in which you see the girls breast as she is being taken from behind. You hear sex noises also. Soon after the first sex scene the girl stands naked in front of the men. Full frontal nudity is shown. The camera shows her from all angles leaving nothing to bare.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is shot in the head at close range while painting on a canvas, the bullet's impact isn't shown but you see blood on the canvas, implying he is dead.
  • The infantry men are forced to fist fight each other during boot camp. We see blood on both men as they pummel each other.
  • There are numerous scenes depicting fighting between the Russians and Afgans. These include close-up gunshot wounds, stabbing and bludgeoning. At times, very graphic and bloody.

Profanity

  • There is a lot of F words used in the movie. It is translated from Russian. The language is fairly consistent in the movie.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Numerous scenes depicting drinking and marijuana use. Smoking scenes are pervasive throughout the movie.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The thought of death and going to war. There are times when their drill Sergeant beats up the men while they do nothing to defend themselves.
  • One scene depicts a child shooting a soldier, then being shot himself. This could be disturbing to some.
