Gerda Müller treats unconvinced granddaughter Nadja to a Hawaii cruise as graduation present, without disclosing it's to meet Gerda's long lost son Bernd, her 'dead' father, who seeks revenge on the man whose false testimony cost him 15 years in jail. It's actually the ship's first engineer Michael Stolze, whom Nadja falls in love with. Michael blamed his mother for dumping his father for Bernd and after her fatal fall, head on a rock, jealously blamed his stepfather Bernd. Captain Hansen gets the men to talk it through and look ahead, with Nadja. New ship boutique concessionary Eva Reimann falls at fist glance leaving the air port for Frank Deubner, whom she finds at the beach and is the cruise ship's executive officer. Passenger Werner Steincke is living proof of her past as call-girl to work off debts, with him as client, whose unwitting 'busiess proposal' enrages Frank, who risks a trial and dismissal after a fist stroke. Workaholic Werner's neglected wife Margit makes him back off by divorce threat. Ingo Büchner finds his teen daughter Jacky a poor choice to stand in for her sick mother with tickets booked, jealously posing as his wife to sabotage potential romance with single Verena Schade. Jacky's own romance with hunky surf instructor Steve suffers his revenge in kind.
