New Jersey Pictures, an American studio, announced that its documentary The Soprano State: New Jersey’s Culture of Corruption Part One will premiere at Clearview's Ziegfeld Theatre in New York on October 18. Four days after that, the film will begin its theatrical career in select theatres of New Jersey and New York City.
The film is based on a New York Time bestselling book by veteran investigative journalists Bob Ingle and Sandy McClure. The documentary fcast a glance on the corruption among politicians and government officials in the state of New Jersey: envelopes of money exchanged for political favors; cash paid for back-door deals; Construction contracts handed out for those who have to pay elected officials are a few examples. Moreover, by upholding that New Jersey is "arguably the most corrupted State" in the USA, the documentary brings us in the days when New Jersey was a British colony.
