It's love among the cavemen as various primitives fight for the affections of Mildred Davis in this comedy directed by Alf Goulding. Miss Davis was promoted to Harold Lloyd's co-star after Bebe Daniels left for Paramount, and later became Mrs. Lloyd.
When Harold Lloyd was sidelined after he blew up a hand while posing with a lit prop bomb that was more than a prop, Hal Roach promoted sidekick Snub Pollard into his own series of one-reelers. Unfortunately, this one is not very good. The visual jokes mostly consist of cast members hitting each other on the head with rocks and clubs, which doesn't bother most of them. The action is frequently broken up by titles, whose humor consists of anachronisms. They pall quickly.
Ernie Morrison is on hand in a very early pairing with Pollard and he plays the quick-witted youngster that he would throughout the series. It's not enough to save this one, alas.
