The game concept and design was by noneother than Michael Jackson himself.
Following the release of Moonwalker on Sega Genesis, mega drive and arcade, It was rumored that Jackson was called in to do the soundtrack for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. This rumor was then confirmed by Sega Technical Institute director, Roger Hector in 2005. But due to the sexual abuse allegations in 1993 Jackson chose to remain uncredited.
The prototype version contained the song "Thriller", which was replaced with "Another Part of Me" in the final version.
