These short films are actually quite fun to watch!

I was impressed with the humorous writing style of these shorts, especially during the scenes with Mistress Misty, the "Hostess" who has three children, apparently sired by Count Dracula, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and The Wolfman! :) To give you an idea of the director's humor, he has these little footnotes that run at the bottom of the credits – funny indeed! :) Obviously, being a part of a 50-movie pack, you should realize that these are movies with pretty much no budget at all. So you know they are going to be somewhat cheesy, however the shorts that make up this film are very tongue-in-cheek, and I was actually surprised at the make-up of the werewolves – not bad at all! All of the out-of-sync fighting, etc. only added to the charm. :) If you do not mind zero-budget films, this is definitely one to check out! I know that I will be checking out other works by this director.

Dire (were) wolf anthology

Warning: Spoilers
The Tomb of Terrors box set keepings luring me with the promise of sub-70 minute films. Unfortunately this is going to backfire on me and I'm going to be stuck with the longer stuff, some exceeding 100 minutes which for films made for pocket change is pretty much the filmed equivalent of an Eisenhower death camp. The Lunar Pack is like 56 minutes long and also an anthology! It sounds bearable and I guess compared to the same discs Nightmare Museum and Season in Hell it kind of was. It's hosted by Debbie Rochon in front of a cheap green screen set with really lame humor involving fake looking creatures and feeding fish "brainfood" which is just a gelatin brain, there was also a fake rat that looked like a Zhu Zhu pet or something. I wish those were still popular.

The first segment is maybe 5 minutes long and two werewolf chicks fighting until a heart is ripped out, the end. The second involves a detective investigating a possible cheating wife. This means it has private eye voiceovers which I really loathe. She's not cheating she's just being chained up by a guy while her husband is away so she doesn't wreak havoc as a werewolf. The last story involves a couple parked on a backroad that get attacked by werewolves. The man lives but is now a werewolf I think and a cop who hates him is investigating. The first short was too brief to be anything. The last two are even less exciting than my descriptions. The only good thing you can say about this is compared to some other films in this set it was at least coherent and it's not Nightmare Museum or Season in Hell.

Indie werewolf trash

Warning: Spoilers
THE LUNAR PACK is another shot-on-video piece of trash from writer/director Jason Liquori. This one's a trilogy themed around werewolves, and the segments are hosted by scream queen Debbie Rochon, who appears stoned when delivering her lines. All of the stories are mindless and merge into one: they feature interchangeable plots and no production values whatsoever. I appreciate the references to classic horror movies of old, but this is less a tribute, more a waste of time.
