"Maria works a regular job in the day and as a hostess at night. Her mother left her father when she was young. Remarried, she had her sister Nana. A fire started by Maria killed her stepfather and caused Nana's blindness. Maria makes money to pay for many surgeries for Nanas's eyesite but to no avail, although there is still hope. Maria meets Shiro when he is involved in a hit and run. He doesn't seem to remember who he is..."

Maria feels massive guilt for many reasons she hasn't shared, her mother has a secret life that she hides from her daughters, and her sister Nana has a complex with wanting to be strong and independent on her own. Add a criminal boyfriend, a famous pianist with an inferiority complex, and a "playboy" heir to a hotel group, with a dash of evil siren and loyal and violent neatherdal and drug abuse, and you have a very 90's looking, depressing but interesting story. One I have watched dozens of times. The main actress is as always, amazing (Tokyo Love Story) and I will always recommend the watch. The characters (especially Shiro) show us what we can become if we don't actively try to learn and grow. Especially if our loved ones are at stake.
