Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • Episode 1: A Bison is also shown being taken down by a sabre-toothed cat with no blood. There is also no blood when a ground sloth is killed by human spears, or when humans hunt down a Caribou. When the Clovis hunt down a Mammoth, there is a lot of blood around the carcass. Similarly in the end, when American pioneers gun down Bison on horseback, even showing one dying animal snorting blood out of the nose. When the short-faced bear swipes Si'tan, he has visible claw marks on his face.
  • Episode 2: One man is killed by a spear from a rival tribe, another is eaten by a saltwater crocodile, and one more is shown bitten by Megalania prisca in gory detail. A kangaroo hunt is shown, and men burn the megalania alive.
  • Episode 3: A girl is attacked by a large Haast's eagle, and is eaten right after. The tribe are also shown killing a Giant Moa. Archive footage from previous episodes are shown, including violence. There is also a scene when a false sabre-toothed cat known as Dinofelis pounced on a female Australopithecus with no apparent blood.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Episode 1: The death of Shi-oh's child may be potentially upsetting. It is frightening both times we are shown Si-tan's confrontation with the short-faced bear, but more so during the second time we see it because his death is revealed, as well as a shot from the man's point of view. There is also an emotional scene at the end when a herd of bison are gunned down by white settlers.
  • Episode 2: One would easily find the Megalania, crocodile and Genyornis terrifying. Jabarola's death scene, when the Megalania bites his leg with much splattering blood and even seeing through each character's eyes. It might also be a terrifying sight when Japangadi and company exact revenge on the monitor lizard by burning him alive. Some of this is also seen through Megalania's eyes, depicting first-hand what it experienced as it was burned alive.
  • Episode 3: The close-ups of a Giant weta and bat are uncomfortable for some. The scene where two women are pursued and one is killed by the Haast's eagle is not ideal for children to see, as is the giant moa hunt. Some unsettling scenes from previous episodes are also shown.
