A HOME FOR THE BULLETS Dir. S.N.Sibley stars. KEN MOOD, SCOTT JOHNSON, NORMAN FELTON, CLAIRE WALLACE, CAINE THOMPSON, LLOYD KAUFMAN, NORMAN McFADYEN Renegade cop AXEL FALCON is trying so hard to reach his Nemesis, the criminal mastermind 'Davro' and to bring him down. After some failed attempts at catching him, Davro has Axel's family brutally murdered so Axel sets out to seek revenge and will stop at nothing to kill his enemy. In his path stand many comic-book style villains including 'Sadistic Sam', a transvestite werewolf and a pumped up gorilla just dying to wreak havoc. Lloyd Kaufman also makes an appearance! Can Axel take on Davro's army of supervillians all by himself to finally put an end to Davro's rein of terror? S.N.Sibley's 'A home for the bullets' has got to be one of the funniest no-budgeter i've seen in ages. You must do what you can to grab a copy of this movie as it is extremely entertaining. Ken Mood's performance as Axel is very comical and very likable. There are many things to like about the film. Its obvious low budget is used as an excuse for more laughs, there are some great characters which are also well played (sometimes) including the hilarious Psychiatrist and the pastie pimp. It really must be seen to be believed and will leave one ready and waiting for it's sequel which there will obviously be.

'A HOME FOR THE BULLETS' is an amazing British comedy and a great debut for S.N.Sibley who will most definitely be bringing out much, much more in the future.

Cheers!

a home for the bullets pushes the limits

A wise man once said: movie industry has its limits, and whats the point of them if they are not to be pushed? Thats exactly what S.N.SIBLEY has accomplished with this movie. A HOME FOR THE BULLETS is delightful combination of comedy, action and comic elements of horror. This young and ambitious director had done excellent job by confiding the main role to Ken whose performance is worth to be seen. During 90 min of this (unforgetable) film, Ken Moods character Axel Falcon is in a mission to destroy Davro, the main villain played by excellent Scott Johnson. Beside them, there are other various types of characters (such as ludicrous psychiatrist or transvestite werewolf) that increase element of surprise in this movie, same as ably inserted (black) humor in scenes of action (and tragedy). It is worth of mentioning excellent choice of music (wish there is a soundtrack). Anyone who wants to see something new, unique, humorous and visionary I recommend this, I'd dare to say, cult movie. And personally, I hope that S.N.Sibley will, with each of his new movie, push the limits of movie industry even further.

A trash can is the perfect 'Home for the Bullets'

SIBLEY is unbelievable. One of a kind. Sibley has to be the only director who goes out of his way to add some cheese and disbelief to his films. There are moments in the film when the "actor" forgets their lines and really struggles to get the scene back, this is where you would normally on set hear "cut" and "go again" but not in this masterpiece, these moments are deliberately left in. There is some very creative editing to make it look as though some of the male characters are engaging sexually with each other, which completely detracts from the story at the time. As if all that was not bad enough, the story is lame with very weak characters and some of the worst acting there has ever been in the history of cinema. BUT... Somehow add this all together and if you fast forward through some long winded scenes you actually have an embarrassingly funny film. Definitely worth a watch if you like watching Eastenders' funny one-liners, the dramatic acting in Home and Away and the cheesiness of David Hasselhoff's 'Hooked on a Feeling' music video.

Awful… In a good way!

A MOST Excellent EXPERIENCE

Quite possibly the funniest and cleverest film ever made. And what a budget! Where did the director find the gems that are Axel and Davro? And the Chief! So funny. So very funny. The scenes between Axel and Partner are touching as well, and if Axel finding his family dead weren't so funny (thanks to Axel's amazing facial expressions) I would have been in tears. And the bearded killer - almost had a jap's eye blown - we should see more of him in the future. Axel's family is dead - LONG LIVE AXEL FALCON!! If you ever only see one film then this has to be the one. I hear that A Home For The Silver Bullets is somewhere, lets hope the Easter Bunny brings it to me. And thanks to LLoyd Kaufman for showing the Hollywood set that its OK to star in low budget films. That's a true film maker x

Axel, the annoying Geordie
trashgang15 June 2011
A Grave For The Corpses; when watching the first ten minutes I noticed terrible sound, re-used shots in the driving sequence and even some scene's that weren't lip sync. For me that was almost a reason to turn it of but when the first zombie appeared, when you watch closely, you see that the make-up was laughable and that he even loses on of his eyes. In the next shot he got his eye back but then again the eye was gone. There is even some trouble with his fake dentals. A-ha low budget, I could even say ultra low budget. So that was a reason to watch further. You will notice all kinds of technical shortcomings, bloopers and some actors or crew winking to the camera. All that reminded me of a Dutch flick I was once send by the director, called "Zaag". Zaag was a spoof, can't really say that about this flick but still it is funny in a cheesy way. Sibley knew about his shortcomings and on purpose made it cheesy. Due all the problems I must say that he knew how to shoot with a camera and how to edit. Naturally, the main problem for folks who hasn't got the English language as spoken words is to understand the Sunderland accent. Being myself a British freak I must say I had to listen carefully to get it all. There are no subs on the DVD and none of the other DVD's. The acting is by some really wooden and even theatrical. Just see how the violist dies. But somehow that kind of acting really works in those kind of flicks. As I said before, the effects used are really cheap due the microscope budget and reminded me of another Dutch flick, the much sought "Zombiegore". or the earlier obscure "Zaag". You see that the crew and actors really had fun making those flicks. Watch the fight scene, see them smile. But look at the first Ittenbach flicks, they were, be honest, almost unwatchable. Or watch Within The Woods (1978) from Raimi/Campbell and see what they did once they had money. The score was okay for me, I like Goth and with bands like Uninvited Guest or Libitina things can't go wrong.

A Home For The Bullet; Pushing the start button, two things came clear. The sound was much better and there was improvement on the editing and Axel Falcon was back again. It was funny to see the use of footage from Troma's War and by mentioning that, yes, Lloyd Kaufman (of Troma fame) did appear in both flicks. But it's still a problem of money. Sadly the blood and gunshots are done by cheap CGI. Sibley still knows the shortcomings and did the same tricks as in "A Grave For The Corpses". My kids were walking around when around the 17th minute one of the girls burped loudly, they start laughing. Do I need to say more. Axel Falcon is much funnier but I won't go into the plot or the story because it's all to weird and exaggerated on all kind of ways. Listen to Axel's conversation at the phone talking with Lionheart. Most acting is still wooden but I will say it again, don't take it seriously. See the ninja's attack, look at the fighting, shoot-outs, again re-use of shots of his own flicks. We are watching an ultra low budget franchise.

The Last Zombie Hunter; Part 3 in the Axel falcon franchise. If you want to see a summary of the goriest parts of A Grave then you have to see the beginning of this part. And finally there is some gore attached, the red stuff flows frequently. The acting is also the best here, way to go. Where Sibley uses CGI it is also much better then before. There are so many faults in continuity, for example, one zombie got shot in the head, blood flows, next shot, no blood but you really get used to it and by now we all know not to take it seriously. But the main reason to watch these cheesy flicks is Axel Falcon himself. The first time he appeared he really annoyed me with his falsetto voice. Once you get into him you want to see more of him and even more of his Geordie accent saying bastards and the magic 4 letter word f***. When he's in the gym it becomes so homo erotic. The clothes he is wearing, just a typical anti 007 hero. If you like Axel then you can watch it without any problem. Or if you're an aficionado of cheesy exploitation than I recommend it too. It is sometimes so bad that it becomes good.

With the viewing of Sibleys shorts it's clear that he really knows his stuff. There is a trailer made by him of "Dia Del Giallo" which looks really great but sadly it never was made into a full feature. And that he can make gore without CGI is shown in "Passby". If you look at the Axel franchise then you can see an ode to the old Romero classics. The hands of the zombies coming true the door, beheading, a zombie without a head, the chainsaw (Texas Chainsaw), the machete (Friday the 13th)...I have seen worser flicks getting a proper release like Don Dohler ones or Andy Milligan's. They became cult after wards. If just one financier picks up Sibley and give him the money he needs than he can finally make what he really wants. Sibley, a name really to look forward to.
