As director Patty Jenkins confirms that Wonder Woman 3 was axed by Warner Bros, co-star Chris Pine has expressed his befuddlement at the decision.
Director Patty Jenkins, who made 2017’s Wonder Woman and its 2020 sequel Wonder Woman 1984, has confirmed that the third film in the series is essentially dead. And with the whole DC Universe now in the process of being rebooted by James Gunn, it’s likely that the whole timeline (and its characters) established by Jenkins has come to an end.
Chris Pine, who co-starred as dashing pilot Steve Trevor in Jenkins’ movies, has expressed his amazement that Warner Bros didn’t proceed with Wonder Woman 3 – a project Jenkins worked on for at least a few months before it was cancelled in December 2022.

With Gunn and Safran spearheading the Dcu reboot, it was announced that nearly all projects affiliated with the Dceu would be scrapped, with most of the original cast not reprising their roles.
This included the cancellation, or at least postponement, of the ‘Wonder Woman’ franchise, including a planned third installment directed by Jenkins and starring Gadot as Wonder Woman.
Patty Jenkins opted out of directing ‘Rogue Squadron’ in favor of helming the potential third ‘Wonder Woman’ installment. Despite Gunn and Safran’s Dceu overhaul into the Dcu, there was lingering optimism from both Jenkins and Gadot for their return to the project, until its eventual confirmation that it wouldn’t materialize.
Chris Pine, who played Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman’s significant love interest and a prominent character in Diana’s narrative, recently expressed his surprise at the Dcu’s decision to not continue Diana’s story.

With Gunn’s and Safran’s reboot of the Dcu, came the news that pretty much all projects that were under the Dceu umbrella would be canceled and that almost none of the cast would return to reprise their roles.
Of course, that also meant canceling the ‘Wonder Woman’ franchise or at the least, a planned third movie that Jenkins was supposed to direct and Gadot return to star as Wonder Woman.
Patty Jenkins even walked away from directing ‘Rogue Squadron’ to direct the potential third installment. Even after Gunn and Safran rebooted the Dceu into Dcu some semblance of hope remained both for Jenkins and Gadot that they will return to the Wonder Woman project, until it was ultimately confirmed that this isn’t happening.

Patty Jenkins discusses the end of one project and the beginning of another as she gives an update on the status of her planned Star Wars movie.
Ever since the release of Wonder Woman 1984 back in 2020, Patty Jenkins has jumped from blockbuster project to blockbuster project, but without ever getting to the point of actually entering production. As such, we’re now four years on from the release of that film and Jenkins is still developing films to make.
While we’re hoping that her career doesn’t undergo a 14 year movie directing hiatus like the gap that exists on her filmography between 2003’s Monster and 2017’s Wonder Woman, it has been four years now where she’s moved from project to project as the tectonic plates of Hollywood have continually shifted beneath her.
There was a Cleopatra project with Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot that Jenkins was set to direct.

Lynda Carter is paying tribute and honoring the late Jeannie Epper, the Wonder Woman stunt performer.
Epper died on Sunday at the age of 83. She performed stunts in the 1970s Wonder Woman TV series and films like The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Kill Bill: Vol. 2.
“I have a lot to say about Jeannie Epper. Most of all, I loved her. I always felt that we understood and appreciated one another,” Carter wrote in a message posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “After all, it was the 70s. We were united in the way that women had to be in order to thrive in a man’s world, through mutual respect, intellect and collaboration.”
Carter continued, “Jeannie was a vanguard who paved the way for all other stuntwomen who came after. Just as Diana was Wonder Woman, Jeannie Epper was also a Wonder Woman.

Asked if another director would take on the film, Jenkins said: “No, they’re not interested in doing any ‘Wonder Woman’ for the time being.”
“So, when I left Star Wars to do ‘Wonder Woman 3’, and I started working on that, we talked about, ‘Well, maybe I’ll come back to Star Wars after ‘Wonder Woman 3’, so we started a deal for that to happen,” she said.

The actor, who starred in 2017’s Wonder Woman and 2020’s Wonder Woman 1984, recently told Business Insider that he was “stunned” after learning a third movie in the superhero franchise wasn’t happening.
“I’m stunned that they said no to a billion-dollar franchise and decided to pivot elsewhere,” the Poolman director said. “I don’t know what the reasoning was behind that; it’s above my pay grade, but Wonder Woman is an incredible character. Patty [Jenkins] is such a thoughtful director.”
Pine played Steve Trevor, the love interest of Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince/Wonder Woman character, in the first two movies, however, he noted that he wouldn’t have been involved in a third film.

Will Gal Gadot become one of the few Dceu actors to reprise their characters in the Dcu?
If you've lost score at home, the important tidbits to remember regarding the current status of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is that James Gunn and Peter Safran unveiled the Dcu film slate in January 2023 and it was absent a standalone Wonder Woman movie.
Yet, despite that fact, in August 2023, Gal Gadot told the media that she had met with Gunn and Safran and had been assured that she would be returning to the role.
Since then, there's been a series of conflicting rumors and reports that state that Gadot will be back as Wonder Woman or that she's out.
Back in September 2023, the ever "reliable" @MyTimeToShine said that Gadot would be returning as Wonder Woman.

The DC Extended Universe we knew is a thing of the past now. After 15 movies in the office, the men in power of the franchise decided that things were not working out for the Universe. The Box Office returns and criticism from fans casting a lot of doubt about how things would pan out for the franchise that was once being touted as a competition to the MCU.
But it wasn’t meant to be. That also meant that a rumored sequel to WW84 would have to be scrapped. And Chris Pine had no qualms with that, for one peculiar reason.

Chris Pine’s role in the DC Universe was certainly iconic. Being one of the most beloved actors in the industry, his portrayal of Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman franchise came with nothing short of appreciation. Especially following the course of the first movie, his ultimate sacrifice touched the hearts of many, making it cruel to learn that his appearance in the sequel was next to nothing.

Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman has, no doubt, been one of the most favorite characters from the DC Universe, and nearly everyone who has played her to date has been widely loved in the role. One of the actresses who played her was actress Lynda Carter, who turned out to be so greatly endearing to both fans and critics that she is closely identified with the character to date.
Wonder Woman in the comics.
Being widely regarded as the most accurate Diana Prince, she gave her opinions on who the next person could be to carry on the superheroine’s legacy. Surprisingly enough, she was reported to have called Sandra Bullock “too old” for the role. However, Carter later on not only debunked these reports but also claimed she had even vouched for the actress to play the DC superhero.

In the May 5 episode of “Sunday Sitdown With Willie Geist,” Pine spoke about being cast as Nicholas Devereaux in the 2004 film, which jumpstarted his career and turned his finances around.

Chris Pine felt like more than a million bucks after being cast in “Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” — he felt like $50 million, to be exact. Not that he made anywhere near that sum.
During an upcoming appearance on NBC News’ “Sunday Today with Willie Geist,” Pine recalled how joining the 2004 sequel film proved to be a pivotal point in his career. Pine played Prince Nicholas Devereaux who tries to woo Princess Mia (Anne Hathaway) in her ancestral home country of Genovia.

Chris Pine, Cynthia Erivo, Kieran Culkin, Sharon Stone and Rosie Perez celebrated Jeff Bridges’ seven-decade career at the 49th annual Chaplin Awards Gala in New York City on Monday night. But the Big Lebowski star almost chose a different career path.
During his acceptance speech for the Film at Lincoln Center‘s prestigious honor, the True Grit star shared that he originally “resisted” the idea of pursuing acting full-time for a few different reasons.
“It made me nervous, anxious, and I had other things I wanted to do,” he told the full auditorium at Alice Tully Hall. “I was very much into music. I loved ceramics, painting, and who wants to do what their parents do anyway?”
He recalled his father, actor Lloyd Bridges, explaining to him that he could do all of those things in this career path and use them all to some degree, which was one of the beauties of the job.

Similar to many other Hollywood biggies, Chris Pine too comes from an acting background, whose parents were once associated with the showbiz. But while they did enjoy modest success, especially his dad, Robert Pine, it did little to change their life around financially, and the late ’80s would turn out to be the toughest period for the Pine family.
The Wonder Woman star, who has cemented himself as a major A-lister since rising to prominence in the late 2000s, recounted this dark period of his life, and how his parents combated the situation.

Marvel fans have been eagerly awaiting more female-led superhero flicks to highlight the powerful women of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a world where male superheroes predominate. However, recent reports have suggested that the future of such projects could very well be at risk, making fans frustrated and disappointed.
Teyonah Parris’ character Monica Rambeau would have had her own solo MCU series if Brie Larson’s The Marvels had not been met with such dismal critical reception. Although Monica Rambeau made a fleeting appearance in Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels (2023), the character made her official debut in Disney+’s WandaVision.

It's time for another Zack Snyder slow-motion extravaganza! Snyder's big sci-fi sequel "Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver" is now on Netflix, and the reactions ... well, they ain't great, folks. The first film, subtitled "A Child of Fire," didn't fare much better — it's currently sitting at 21% on Rotten Tomatoes. But what about Part Two? Sadly, it seems to be doing even worse than the original flick. As of this writing, "Rebel Moon – Part Two" has a terrible 15% on Rotten Tomatoes. And if you're thinking, "Well, that's just the critics! What are regular people saying about the movie?", you should also know that the film's audience score is a less-than-great 52%. In short, people don't seem to like what Snyder is offering here. Snyder has always had a tenuous relationship with critics, but this seems to be one of his worst-reviewed films to date. Even his cartoon owl movie has...

Back in 2023, Warner Bros. were gearing up for the release of one of the last movies to come out of the Dceu. The Flash, starring Ezra Miller in the lead, and directed by Andy Muschetti, had a lot hanging on its shoulders. The movie was supposed to be the vessel to reboot the Dceu to give way for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s Dcu.

Cleopatra is one of those iconic figures that Hollywood seems perpetually interested in bringing to the screen again, even if the vast majority of these projects never seem to get anywhere.

Angelina Jolie’s scrapped “Cleopatra” movie was part romance epic and part “political thriller with assassinations and sex,” according to the movie’s original screenwriter Brian Helgeland. Recently, the Corridor Crew YouTube channel added the 130th video to their 'VFX Artists React' series. The crew took a look at special effects from a few movies, including recent releases like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Wonder Woman 1984.
These CGI extravaganzas drew some criticisms from the team, while they were pleasantly surprised by the effects from different movie – one that is more than four decades old.
The Killer Car
In the 1983 film Christine, an awkward teenager named Arnie falls in love with a busted up 1958 Plymouth Fury named Christine. Christine has a long and violent history – when a factory worker dropped cigarette ash on her, he was later found dead in the car. Since then, at least three other people have died in Christine.
As Arnie works to lovingly restore the car, his personality changes from a sweet and bumbling nerd to a rebellious and arrogant bad boy.

Long live Queen Cleopatra, even if her film adaptations have been plagued for more than half a century.
After Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s 1963 “Cleopatra” starring Elizabeth Taylor made history as one of the biggest box office disasters ever, a long-gestating adaptation was set with Angelina Jolie attached to star (and directors like David Fincher and Ang Lee being attached at different times). “A Knight’s Tale” and “Man on Fire” writer Brian Helgeland wrote the script, and while the film was “almost made,” it eventually fell by the wayside.
Now, Helgeland is recalling the details of the scrapped project in a new interview with Inverse. “I was the very first writer on ‘Cleopatra’ when it was being developed for Angelina Jolie to star in, which was almost made,” Helgeland said. “It had elements of a political thriller with assassinations and sex, but it’s an epic that’s divided between her...

Pedro Pascal did not become the name that he is today immediately after entering the Hollywood industry. It took him a long time and a great amount of patience. While skill was everpresent, recognition wasn’t. He made his name with effort seeping through every scene. Now he stands as Joel, the Mandalorian, and Javier all at the same time.

Just because one holds fame now doesn’t necessarily mean it came to them naturally or that they were born with a silver spoon. Pascal worked hard to get where he is now. Migration, especially, is a difficult transition in life. Migration can lead to trauma with identity and more so in finding a place in what one is supposed to call home.

Superman has always been the most hopeful and powerful hero, whether it is about DC, or Marvel. With the many adaptations of the Kryptonian hero, some get regarded as masterpieces while others die before they can even reach the surface. Adaptations find key elements that please the audiences and the DC Animated Universe is by far excelling the most in that.
All-Star Superman
All-Star Superman is a film that came and went by with powerful performances and a gripping story. Adapted from the comic book series of the same name, it had various voice actors who gave their very best. In most cases, these performances are backed by other works that manage to impress voice directors.
Andrea Romano, the voice director of the film, sought out Christina Hendricks for the role of Lois Lane because of another fan-favorite series.

Roman Gabriel, who still holds the Los Angeles Rams team record with 154 touchdown passes, died Saturday at his home in Little River, South Carolina, at 83. His death came from natural causes, according to his son, Roman Gabriel III.
Gabriel was the No. 2 draft pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 1962 out of North Carolina State. He was the first Filipino-American quarterback in the NFL and the league Mvp in 1969.
He played in four Pro Bowl games, three with the Rams in the late 1960s and another with the Eagles in 1973. But he reached the postseason only twice, and his Rams were eliminated in the first round both times.
“We mourn the loss of Rams legend and football pioneer, Roman Gabriel,” the Rams said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

James Gunn has been busy directing the first chapter of the new Dcu i.e. Superman (formerly Superman: Legacy). He is also simultaneously directing some episodes of Peacemaker season 2 and is handling all the grunt work that comes with being the co-chief of the new DC Studios.
It seems like part of the grunt work includes answering for the past projects of the Dcu (then the Dceu). The filmmaker was recently asked by a fan about the Green Lantern TV show for HBO Max that was in development starring American Horror Story’s Finn Wittrock. Gunn reportedly clarified the status of the project, which was announced back in 2021.
Actor Finn Wittrock Was Supposed to Headline A Green Lantern Series A still from Green Lantern: Emerald Knights
The Dceu has announced many projects in the past including films and TV shows that eventually never saw the light of day.

The Alien franchise is set to continue on the small screen with an “FX on Hulu” TV series from Fargo creator Noah Hawley, a show that began filming last year, then had to halt production after a month due to the actors strike. It’s been a few months since we’ve heard any news about this project, as director Fede Alvarez’s film Alien: Romulus (which is set to reach theatres on August 16th) has been getting all of the attention, but now Deadline has confirmed that filming has resumed in Thailand – and Sandra Yi Sencindiver of Foundation has joined the cast to play “a senior member of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation” in multiple episodes. “We hear there’s scope for the character to grow in future seasons.”
