‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is generating significant anticipation as one of the most exciting upcoming projects in the MCU. Scheduled for release in 2024, it’s already drawing praise from those who have seen previews, with expectations high for its impact on the franchise’s reputation.
As with any highly anticipated project, rumors abound regarding potential cameos, variants, and plot elements, with some confirmations, such as Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, and others still under speculation, supported by mounting evidence. To provide clarity, let’s explore the confirmed and rumored cameos and variants expected in the film.
Aaron Stanford – John Allerdyce/Pyro (Confirmed)
Aaron Stanford’s return was initially speculated, along with a few other minor X-Men villains, though his appearance was later confirmed in the trailer. While he only briefly appears on screen, his unmistakable costume leaves no doubt about his identity. Earlier this year, he had denied any involvement in the movie.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is one of the most exciting upcoming projects. It’s the only MCU movie bound to be released in 2024, and judging by the opinions of people who already saw parts of it, it’s going to be an MCU saver and restore the faith of fans in the franchise overall.
Just like with every anticipated project, plenty of rumors are going around about potential cameos, variants, and elements of the movie. Some have been confirmed like Garner’s Elektra, and some remain under speculation, with more and more evidence stacking to support them. This is why we decided to overview all confirmed (and rumored) cameos & variants that are supposed to be included in the movie.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are two pretty popular names in the film industry. Having done some of the most successful movies in the last two decades, both actors have an amazing folio to their credit. And of course, playing two of the most beloved superheroes from Marvel Comics has only added to their storied career.
Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds as Logan and Wolverine
When Hugh Jackman first joined the world of superheroes, he was a relatively unknown face. X-Men (2000) was his debut movie, which catapulted him to over night success. Ryan Reynolds on the other hand had been part of some pretty successful projects by the Deadpool (2016) graced our screens. Though, to be fair, he had already played Deadpool, or at least a version of him, before, in one of the X-Men movies – X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).

Deadpool is back and more meta than ever, but this time he's bringing some serious backup. For the first time since Disney acquired rival studio 20th Century Fox (along with their entire catalogue of pre-existing IP), the upcoming "Deadpool & Wolverine" is now setting its sights on no less a prize than the Marvel Cinematic Universe ... and no less an icon than Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. It's the team-up movie that nobody saw coming, especially after 2017's "Logan" seemed to officially and definitively close the book on Jackman's portrayal of the character. The reaction to the newly released trailer for Marvel's sole theatrical release of 2024 only further proves that interest in this threequel among both fans and casual audiences alike remains at a fever pitch. But what about those who feel strongly that the beloved member of the X-Men ought to have stayed retired -- or perhaps undergone a recasting,...

For Ryan Reynolds, the latest Deadpool & Wolverine trailer is a chance for audiences to see two marquee characters together, a pairing that “took seven years and a lot of begging” to get Hugh Jackman to return as Wolverine.
Ahead of the new trailer (watch below), Reynolds shared the post-credits scene from Deadpool 2 (2018), which showed Deadpool traveling through time to “clean up the timelines” — which included rectifying some mistakes from Reynolds’ own filmography. Among them was X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), which starred Jackman and featured Reynolds as Wade Wilson. The film was widely panned, in particular for a climax that included Wade Wilson with his mouth sewn shut — a particularly affront to comic book fans given that Wilson is known for being such a talkative character.
“Eventually, you’re going to hang up the claws, and it’s going to make a lot of people very sad. But one day,...

The trailer for Deadpool & Wolverne’s second trailer was just posted hours ago by Ryan Reynolds. Although this might be the pretty first time that a trailer for a trailer has been released, fans are hardly surprised since it is Reynolds we are talking about. As the less than 40-second clip went viral, so did Reynolds’s sweet caption with it.

Stating that it has been seven years of him trying to get Wolverine with Deadpool, the efforts that Reynolds put into that dream casting would certainly have been gigantic. And they are nothing compared to Alan Ritchson’s Batman Campaign.

With spring break simmering to 8% K-12 on break, and 1% colleges off, it’s a hodgepodge at the weekend box office until 20th Century Studios’ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes arrives to an expected $50 million-plus opening during the second weekend of May.
A24’s Civil War, which currently counts $27M through Monday after $1.9M yesterday, will need to defend its No. 1 flag from Universal’s Radio Silence-directed genre title Abigail. Both are looking at around $12M apiece. Still, that would rep a 53% decline for Alex Garland’s dystopian, divided America thriller, which would be excellent. Civil War will share Imax auditoriums with Sony/Crunchyroll’s anime Spy x Family Code: White as well as the Nathaniel Kahn-directed documentary Deep Sky.
‘Abigail’
Booked at 3,300 theaters, Abigail stars Melissa Barrera and the late Angus Cloud as well as Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, Kevin Durand as a bunch of kidnappers who opt to abduct 12-year old ballerina Abigail (Alisha Weir). She’s the daughter of a powerful underworld figure, and her ransom is for $50M.
In an isolated mansion, the captors, whose job it is to watch her, start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl. The pic will share Plf screens with Lionsgate’s Guy Ritchie-directed The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which is looking at mid single-digits, as well as Spy x Family Code: White, which is looking to do about the same.
Abigail, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, starts previews on Thursday at 5 p.m. Men and women 18-34 are the sweet spot. Reviews for the R-rated pic are currently at 82% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
A $6M-ish opening for the Ritchie movie is in the same realm as The Covenant. The R-rated Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare received an A- CinemaScore during last weekend’s sneaks and will preview at 6 p.m. Thursday before going wide in 2,700 theaters.
‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’
The Ritchie-written title is based upon recently declassified files of the British war department and inspired by true events. Pic tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including author Ian Fleming. The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly “ungentlemanly” fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British Sas and modern black ops warfare. Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Henry Golding and Cary Elwes star. Some exhibitors believe the movie has a shot at blowing past its estimates. Rt reviews are at 81% fresh.
‘Spy x Family Code: White’
Spy x Family Code: White is booked at 2,000 engagements with 4 p.m. Thursday previews going in 1,870 sites. Pic will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in English. The Takashi Katagiri-directed movie is the first film installment of the TV series, here with a stand-alone story featuring secret agent <Twilight>, his deadly assassin wife Yor, and their telepathic adopted daughter Anya in an all-new mission. Pic is based on the Harvey- and Eisner Award-nominated manga written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo. The TV series debuted on April 9, 2022, with the first two seasons available to watch on Crunchyroll.

Horror has been a real anchor for the box office in the pandemic era, with franchises like "Halloween" and originals like "M3GAN" managing to break through in a meaningful way. Now, Universal Pictures is looking to strike with something original while also playing in familiar territory with "Abigail." The upcoming horror film deals with vampires, something Universal has done dating back to the original "Dracula" more than 90 years ago. But this one comes with a pretty unique spin on the tried-and-true genre. The question is, will it be enough to motivate moviegoers to turn up for a vampire movie? Or will this be another unfortunate misfire for the studio?

Liev Schreiber is getting candid about what he’s learned about fame over the years, saying that it alone won’t make people truly happy.
The Emmy-nominated actor shared in an interview with Haute Living magazine, published online Thursday, that after decades in the entertainment industry, he realized the importance of working on projects that he’s actually passionate about.

Dealing with violent characters and their graphic storylines can definitely be a tricky affair when you’re making a show for kids. Unfortunately, that is exactly what has been happening with Marvel’s fan-favorite X-Men member, Wolverine for years.
X-Men ’97
Marvel recently revived its highly successful X-Men: The Animated Series from the 90s under the name of X-Men ’97. However, the problem with exploring some of the badass stories of Wolverine remains the same to this day.
Boyd Kirkland explains why the violent side of Wolverine was never explored in X-Men: Evolution
X-Men is one of Marvel’s most popular superhero teams. The team arguably comes 2nd in popularity right after The Avengers as the latter has gained a lot of admiration and acclaim since their live-action adaptation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Dublin, Ireland. Headquarters of Guinness, Jameson, and the most overpriced beer you can find in the Temple Bar area. Steeped in history, Dublin boasts landmarks like Trinity College and Dublin Castle, emblematic of its medieval heritage. Amidst its historical allure, the city’s streets thrive with the energy of bustling pubs resonating with music and culinary delights. However, beyond its libations and cultural landmarks, Dublin harbors a lesser-known connection to vampire folklore.
Since early childhood, my mother took me to the movies weekly. And horror was always a shared love. It was an obsession I’m sure many of us share. My love for vampire films and stories began as soon as I was introduced to The Lost Boys. But Ireland was special for us. Having ancestral ties to the majestic island, we always dreamed of visiting it and taking in the stunning landscape one day.
So, how do vampires and Ireland come into play?...

After over-saturating the market for a few years, Marvel Studios is only releasing one movie in theaters this year. Granted, that's largely because the extensive but necessary double punch of the Hollywood strikes from the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild delayed all big-screen productions for months. But that doesn't change the fact that the upcoming "Deadpool & Wolverine" (watch the trailer here) will be carrying the comic book movie studio on their backs this summer.

Following the recent release of X-Men ‘97, the show is making headlines for its brilliance and finally doing justice to certain mutant characters like Cyclops. While previously Cyclops faced years of big screen mismanagement, X-Men ‘97 eventually gave the mutant all his dues. But simultaneously, the series continued the mistreatment of another character.
The Disney+ show X-Men ‘97
According to reports, while the show did justice to Cyclops, it consistently sidelined Gambit, the same way as he was treated in the live-action X-Men movies. Following Fox Studios’ films, it seems the character started facing a streak of bad luck, which is being continued by X-Men ‘97.

Hollywood stars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have long been engaged in a playful feud and are often seen teasing each other on social media. And with the duo finally pairing up for the upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine, fans have been anticipating seeing their dynamic play out on the silver screen as they reprise their respective X-Men role.
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
Despite their banter, Jackman hasn’t yet seized upon a particular opportunity to jest with his Deadpool 3 co-star. While Jackman does most of his own stunts as Wolverine, Reynolds has opted out of doing his action sequences. Surprisingly, Jackman doesn’t use this contrast to poke fun at his friend and co-star.

Introduced in the 1990’s Uncanny X-Men #266, Gambit quickly won the hearts of fans as he had interesting abilities and a multilayered backstory, which resonated heavily with series’ reader-base. With the ability to charge inanimate objects with energy and convert them into deadly weapons, Gambit captivated the X-Men fandom. A thief by profession, he was extremely agile and a strategist by nature.
Gambit from X-Men (1992)
The popularity sky-rocketed when he made a brief appearance in Hugh Jackman’s 2009 film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Fans were ecstatic to see The Trickster make an appearance, which led to Channing Tatum being offered to play the role in a standalone film.
However, Marvel decided to pull the plug on the film, as Edgar Wright, who was offered to write the script of the anti-hero, turned down the offer.
Edgar Wright Turned Down Gambit’s Standalone Film

After years of being stuck in development hell, "The Crow" remake is finally coming to theaters this summer. It stars Bill Skarsgard ("It") as Eric Draven, the role made famous by the late Brandon Lee in director Alex Proyas' 1994 comic book film of the same name. The reaction to the recently released trailer and images has been mixed, to put it mildly. Now, Proyas himself has weighed in, and the forthcoming remake does not sit well with him.
Proyas took to Facebook recently to share some of his thoughts on this new version of "The Crow," which was directed by Rupert Sanders ("Snow White and the Huntsman"). Proyas, for his part, didn't have anything nice to say, as he even linked to an article from Comic Book Resources titled "The Crow Remake Trailer Gets Staggering Amount of Dislikes on YouTube." Tim Miller's 2016 film "Deadpool" was a shot in the arm for the superhero genre. In 2016, superheroes were still standing astride the Earth like a mighty Colossus, and armies of loyal fans were still attending Avengers movies in droves, eagerly taking notes and running off to record podcasts about what might be next in line for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The world took these lightweight power fantasies very, very seriously, and superheroes dominated the conversation unlike any genre before. "Deadpool" was a slapstick spoof of superhero movies, deliberately constructed to take the piss out of the genre. The title character, played by Ryan Reynolds, often talked to the audience directly, happily pointing out the flaws and cliches of the very story he was living through.
Deadpool was an established X-Men supporting player, so the deconstruction was coming from inside the house. "Deadpool" ultimately didn't dismantle the superhero genre's popularity --...

J.K. Simmons, the voice actor of Omni-Man in Robert Kirkman’s Prime Video animated superhero series, has announced his top pick for the role of the Viltrumite in the Invincible live-action movie that’s still under development.
Fans have continued to throw names into the mix of actors to embody the title character and his father in the film since the announcement of the big-screen adaptation in 2017.

And now, courtesy of Simmons, we have another potential candidate, who the 69-year-old believes would be a proper fit for Nolan Grayson. That someone is none other than X-Men star Hugh Jackman. With ample experience in the superhero genre and enough gravitas to qualify for the complex role, Jackman’s foray into the Invincible world wouldn’t seem far-fetched or unrealistic.

It may be downright difficult to believe, but "The Crow" remake has finally happened. Yes, happened, not happening, as had been promised for so long. Lionsgate has now dropped the first trailer for the long-awaited new adaptation of the comic book by James O'Barr. After all these years, we are, at long last, going to see what Eric Draven looks like in a modern context a full 30 years after the first film arrived in 1994. Check it out for yourself above.
This time around, it's Bill Skarsgård, best known for his role as Pennywise the clown in the "It" movies, taking on the role of Eric Draven. Noticeably, his look is, well, different than what we've seen previously, most notably when the late Brandon Lee originated the role in director Alex Proyas' version of "The Crow." Whether that look is better or worse is a matter left to individual opinion, but...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is now opening its doors and its arms to welcome Deadpool in Deadpool & Wolverine. Before Disney purchased 20th Century Fox, Fox’s Marvel playground was the X-Men franchise. They could give a team member spin-offs, like Wolverine’s solo series, or explore a different facet of mutant-kind with a film like The New Mutants. Before the Deadpool movies with Ryan Reynolds took off, there was actually another version of his story that was planned involving the X-Force team getting their own movie.
According to ScreenRant, Jeff Wadlow, director of Kick-Ass 2, recently appeared on A Trip to the Movies with Alex Zane. He revealed his scrapped plans for an X-Force movie that would have had Ryan Reynolds redeem the interpretation of Wade Wilson from X-Men Origins: Wolverine. This project was one of many canceled explorations into the X-Men universe, such as Channing Tatum‘s solo Gambit movie.

Ryan Reynolds has fans on their toes with each new update on Deadpool 3. Although the actor has played many impressive roles in his career spanning more than three decades, the most memorable of these unsurprisingly happens to be his role as Deadpool. Much to everyone’s delight, he has never failed to impress the fans with his performance as the Merc with a Mouth.
Even with fans’ love for superhero movies waning, Deadpool seems to be a character that no one gets enough of. Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool movie has added to the excitement for its release. That being said, this is a good chance to redeem one of the X-Men villains, who was wronged in 2017’s Logan.
