I got my hands on this movie and had some pretty high expectations of this one, mainly because of its high rating here on IMDb (only 21 votes though) and because of a user comment I read, that this movie would be like nothing else ... Well, I agree to that last part, it's hard to compare this movie to another. As written before, it's indeed a (low budget) movie about a party, told from the perspectives of four guests attending it, without any real story line in it. Like the director says, its a 'portrait' of 'his generation' at a party. I can relate to that. The biggest plus was that the acting is pretty good and the camera work makes you 'feel' like you are attending the party yourself.

However, I was a quite disappointed by the movie.. It just shows some people at an (in my opinion) quite boring party and that's it ! The characters are really 'shallow', so there's not really an interesting 'sociological/psychological' angle in this movie (which would make it far more interesting). Furthermore, since the characters don't experience any really interesting/cool/funny stuff at the party, and there's no storyline at all, it makes the movie kind of boring.

To summarize: if you are looking for a 'portrait' of some of this generation's 'youngsters' attending a party, then this is the movie for you. If you're looking for anything more than that, then just skip this one ...

At first I didn't know what to think about this movie, it is about a party told from the views of four guests attending it. But there is no story, no plot line and no showdown, it's just about these people and their different observations. Really interesting and unique is the way this movie's told, without the usual storytelling. It's just complete original and like nothing I've ever seen before. The acting's good, the characters are real, the music is quiet good and the movie's just very entertaining. So, I recommend 'Minus Zwei' to everyone willing to see a movie out of the ordinary, it's really worth it. (The DVD contains English subtitles by the way)

my girlfriend suggested renting this movie on a Friday night. first I didn't want to see it but the minute it started it got me. I've never seen a movie like this before, it's about a party shown through the eyes of for party guests. everyone sees things differently; events and the appearing of people are shown in different ways. the acting is very good, the atmosphere is great and so is the music. i don't think the movie's right for everyone, but for those who aren't afraid of trying something unique and those who like a good independent film it's the right choice.
