If you are working on your abdominal muscles...

Extremely saturated with perverted, dry (at times wet) humor. That was the longest 15 minutes of laughter I've ever experienced. There were times where I almost felt sorry for "Lars", but then he'd crack me up with his geeky awkwardness and naiveness towards his exploration of his own sexuality (something that most people start in their teens). The fact that he's kind of past the age of initial sexual self discovery behavior makes the film full of shocking and laugh out loud scenes of heartbreak and stalking. It's kind of scary that Lars represents a small population of 20 year old virgins that take things to extremes while others take advantage of his naiveness towards actual interpersonal communication to achieve their own self centered goals.

Clear cut winner of Tromadance 2005!

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie at Tromadance in Salt Lake during Sundance this year. By far the best movie in Tromadance. The other movies I saw there this year all seemed to be junk containing no real merit. 976-LARS was a great example of how fun and honest a short can be. It is a fun movie and a great, creative story. All around it was a winner...great story, acting, directing, camera work. It is very real, brutal, funny, sad and hopeful all at the same time. How can you not love Lars? He is a true Everyman! The acting is great and I love how brutally honest the characters are. Lars is sad and endearing at the same time and his brother is so funny. The style the movie is shot in works very well for the story and the soundtrack is a riot! I can't wait to see more from director/writer Gregory Scott Carroll; a very promising up and coming talent!
