solid low budget film
mr-rob-c21 July 2015
i have to say...i am positive surprised... Germany ist not known for horror film, so i don't know if horror is the right word for this. that people are laughing or total shocked from this film, don't know why...for me not really scary moments. how i write...it is low budget, and often it is crap, so i started this film and was not sure if i will look it to the end, but...i have and it was worth look it. budget ist low, the picture looks cheap and the acting was not really good, BUT the story was good ! thats what makes a film good, when you get entertained, and i was entertained. what i also liked was the guitar solo at the end. try it out, better then the most films with this rating.

greetings from cologne and like always....sorry for my English ,-)

i didn't like it that much

just saw the movie at the fantasy film fest at cologne and the director and main actor were there. both of them seemed pretty likable but anyway the movie was...... well it was good, considering, that it was the director's debut and probably i kept in mind too much that it's gotta be low budget and whatever. rather strange thing was, that from the beginning it started out kinda creepy but then it turned into some kind of horror comedy or at least contained some funny scenes. that was intended, however. and how the audience did laugh! lucky me, i sat right next to the freak, that would laugh, talk and scream loudly throughout the whole movie. i wanted to kill him several times. kind of crazy movie with a sweet performance by Matthias Scherwenikas

(but bittersweet life was way better ;) )

Very nice horror film, even better considering the low budget

Well, how to start,

I've seen the movie today at the Fantasy Film Festival in Hamburg and thought it was really good. Another nice aspect was that the director of the Film was on site and first off did a little introduction and was doing a Q&A after the Movie.

The storyline starts with an author, who had one successful book, move to another apartment as he needs more inspiration to go on with his work. He chose a flat where once a man and his daughter lived, who both died in a car accident, 7 years ago. He has to clean up the whole apartment, as it wasn't inhabited for the last years and is full of cobwebs, dust and dirt. But some mysterious things happen...

One thing I liked is the tension being loosened, getting the audience/viewer to even laugh, just to shock them the next moment again. If a rating existed for low budget films (the overall costs for the movie were 10000€ (!)) it would be a 10/10. You barely get to see the lack in the budget compared to a Hollywood production. (OK, no top of the line special effects, but this movie gets along well without)

It's my first review on site here, so I hope it helps.

Don't watch this alone

I have seen this movie on the fantasy film festival in Hamburg. In the first few minutes I thought something like "Damn, seems like a stupid story and a bad leading actor". Anyway, even so the story seems to be quite predictable, some effects resembles strongly to "the ring" and I didn't like the leading actors and his struggling tries to act without seeming to act, I voted 8 out of 10 for this movie. Why? Because the movie really scared the hell out of me. Fast cuts, horrifying pictures and suddenly load alarming horror music kept me pushing myself deeper and deeper in my seat. I surprised myself thinking something like "No, please, don't look under the bed". But guess what, he will look under the bed and even some more scary places. If you are looking for a movie that urges your wanna-be girlfriend to move a little closer to you, I strongly recommend this movie. But beware when your girls frantically grabs your hand, it is not you who ends up freaking out... PS: On the festival there are usually people used to all kind of horrifying "scared the s... out of me" movies, but this one kept the whole audience gasping and holding their breath...

good story told in an exiting way

Warning: Spoilers
I have seen this movie on the Fantasy Filmfest in Berlin and enjoyed it very much. One of the best German movies I have ever seen. It was not a perfect thing, but a great result for a debut. All in all it was a good story told in an exiting way, and that is in my eyes the most important thing.

As I have seen some horror movies in my life, I found the religious motives a bit irritating and expected the girl to have a dark side. I can understand, that persons from Bavaria (like the author/director) see this with different eyes.

I liked very much, that the movie concentrated on the ghostly aspect of the story and did not care for other ways to look at it, because this would overload it. After all I am looking forward to the next movie by this Bavarian guy.
