The sequence in the woods was filmed near a housing development. The residents began to complain and threatened to call the police if the film did not stop. Finally, they called, but by the time the police arrived, the crew had completed the shoot and left the scene.
The poster shot and the tunnel sequence was achieved without any special effects. The exposure on the camera was turned up to its fullest and natural light was used. Karner described it as "the most beautiful thing I've ever seen."
