The Beguiled was one of Eastwood's darker movies (it was the only film where his character died other then Grand Torino). It was also a film where he plays a cad who gets his comeuppance in the end. This little special about the making of the film (directed by his mentor Don Siegel) is noteworthy because it was his first time directing. There have been so many critics that have mocked Eastwood's acting but at the same time have lauded him as an outstanding director who gets his films done in record time. I am eagerly awaiting Juror #4 which the shooting was delayed because of the Hollywood strike. It is supposed to be his last film.
