They Stop The Show
boblipton31 December 2022
Sarah Duhamel and the unknown actress who plays Leontine go to a show and disrupt the audience around them.

It's a purely slapstick version of the sort of comedy, most notable for the teaming of the two comediennes, and for it being about, well two comediennes. Duhamel was a leading farceur with Pathe as Rosalie, often in collaboration with Maurice Schwartz. Soon after making this comedy, she and its director, Romeo Bosetti, would move to Eclair. Because the characters were owned by the studio, there she would be known as Petronille.

Leontine's performer is another matter entirely. All that is known about her is she made comedies under the name of Leontine. The unnamed performer played an adolescent tomboy who spread destruction and enjoyed the results.

This one is moderately funny as the two actresses overreact to the events on stage and annoy everyone around them Some of the gags are standard. They do them well.
