Bridget Fonda was first choice for playing Victory Ford, but she turned it down since she retired from acting after marry Danny Elfman in 2002. Fonda also turned down the main role in Ally McBeal (1997).
Robert Buckley is the only male cast member to appear in all 20 episodes.
Carole Lombard is featured in several ways. Victory is seen watching two different Carole Lombard movies, Hands Across the Table (1935) and Love Before Breakfast (1936). Episode 2 is titled "Nothing Sacred," which is also the title of a Carole Lombard movie. Wendy and Shane have a large poster for My Man Godfrey (1936) (another Carole Lombard movie) in their apartment.
Kim Raver (Nico Riley), Paul Blackthorne (Shane Healy) and Julian Sands (Victor Matrick) were all in "24" (2001). Raver played Audrey Raines, Blackthorne played Stephen Saunders and Sands played Vladimir Bierko.
