- One of the main themes of the movie is that every boy in school wants to take Mandy Lane's virginity.

- The movie's plot involves characters being killed off one by one in brutal ways with guns, knives and machetes. A few fairly violent scenes with blood and corpses. Overall the violence is not that graphic (especially for a slasher), some of the deaths are not pictured, and the gore level is medium.
- A guy tells another guy to jump off a roof into a swimming pool, in order to pique the interest of a girl; he does so, and accidentally kills himself by hitting the border of the swimming pool with his head (the impact is not seen, but we see his body floating in the bloody water).
- A guy has a knife slashed on his eyes (bloody). He is then stabbed to death partially offscreen (only the first stab is shown).
- A guy is shot and implied to be killed.
- A guy is shot in the forehead (not graphic).
- A man is shot in the shoulder (some blood is seen). He does not die.
- Two guys fight and one stabs the other twice (he does not die).
- A girl stabs another girl in the stomach (the stab is offscreen, but we do see the knife inserted in her belly afterwards). The girl lies on the ground for a while gasping for air before dying. The other girl then removes the knife.
- The bloody dead bodies of three characters are found tied to barbed wire.
- A girl falls in a pit filled with rotting dead cows.
- A man is referenced to have shot several sick cows and this is seen in a flashback (all the shoots are offscreen).

- The final twist at the end is quite shocking and might impress some viewers. Specifically the ending reveals that Mandy and her friend were both in on the killings, and that they planned to die together in a suicide-murder pact, but Mandy backs out and kills her friend when she finds out that he wants to get in her pants, just like every other boy that she hates.
