Bottom of Swiss Film-making
zelot25 September 2006
Luisis first movie "Verflixt verliebt" was not a good one but there are some basic approachs of a comedy. But for me his newest and i hope so last one "Love made easy" reaches the bottom of swiss film-making. Okay there are a lot of bad swiss movies and it's really hard to be on the top but Luisi did it with bravura. The movie is a torture from beginning. The storyline is boring. Everything is foreseeable. The characters are flat. There's so much bad slapstick that i nearly puked. And the saddest thing is, there are movie they are so awful that they are good again, but this one is...,I am speechless. Save your money or throw it away, but spare you this kind of movie.

cute little film

I don't usually go watch Swiss films. Although they are getting better... This one is not very Swiss at all and I found it very enjoyable. It was filmed in America and has an international cast. It's not the most original story, but it has a bunch of good laughs and an over all "feel-good" friendly feeling which I miss in most other films. It's a screwball comedy. Fast talking, not too serious: Four losers team up to help their other loser friend get the girl. The characters are lovable and the girl is lovely. What more do you want? And then somehow the Mafia also gets involved with Martin Landau as the clichéd "big boss". In the end it almost seems more like a comic book than a film.... but whatever: I enjoyed it.

Made me smile a lot!

This film made me smile a lot! A feel good buddy-movie that has a cute and quirky edge to it. Set in a run down quarter of L.A. the life of five losers is suddenly transformed when one of them falls in love with a stripper. However, many of their desperate attempts to bring together Gus and the girl of his dreams fail as they know nothing about women.

When I saw this movie I expected gag after gag but I was positively surprised as it wasn't just the subtle humor that stood out but also the way the film highlights in a sensitive way how we all have our faults. The international cast have done exceptionally well to bring these bold characters to life and the the whole undercover agent storyline was hilarious! Landau proves, despite his old age, that he can still pull it off on the big screen even with very small actions like taking a drag from a cigar. This is highly recommendable stuff!

A great, quirky Movie!
Matthecritic28 September 2006
I have seen the original English version of this film and I thoroughly enjoyed it - it's refreshingly different from your standard art-house Swiss film! Even though it's multinational cast and American locations have given the movie an international atmosphere, Luisi managed keep this film a down-to-earth production that is quirky, funny and accessible to anyone. After his first Film "Verflixt Verliebt" which has won awards at top European and American Festivals, he now follows up with a more mature and subtle movie. Don't expect slapstick - Luisi's comedy's based on colorful characters and fine humor. All the actors have done a particularly great job and created not just funny but also moving characters. The only downside is that the film is quite short and that I would have loved to see a bit more of Landau. Otherwise a huge compliment to the director who pulled this off without any help of the national film fund!

Boy Meets Girl - Boy Wants Girl - Girl is a Stripper
LoveMadeEasy14 May 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Gus is a bumbling guy who want to get to know this girl he has seen. But she a stripper and he does not know that, yet. His friends are all about trying to give hims tips and pointers on how 'he can get the girl'.

The cast is great. But too bad they could not find more for Martin Landau to do in this film. As an Oscar award winner he has so many more talents than he is allowed to display.

The girls name is Natalie and is played marvelously by Melanie Winiger. Her looks give you the feeling that she is just like the girl next door. However, her stripper scenes seem a bit lacking to convince me she really pole dances for a living.
