A personal crusade against French wines.
The first episode explains Jancis Robinson's love for wine, and the last one is meant to explain why Bordeaux wines are over-priced. The other episodes each focus on a different grape.
Episodes that focus on a grape are shot both in its habitat (e.g. Pinot Noir in Burgundy) and somewhere in the "new world" (e.g. Sauvignon blanc in New Zealand). European wine makers, the french in particular, are shown either as on the decline, or as arrogant business man, having only a brand name on the label as reason for their success. New-world wine makers are shown as hard working ambitious visionaries, heroically taking on the might of the over rated French.
After finishing this wine course you will be left to think Wine making is a thing of the past in Europe. You will not be able to distinct wines by looking at the label, nor will you have a clue about how wine is made, which is something I would expect from a wine course.
