Kim Raver: Audrey Raines
Quotes
-
James Heller : Are you ok?
Audrey Raines : Yeah, how are you holding up?
James Heller : Considering the situation we're in, I'm doing fine: the truth of the matter is we do not have the manpower to handle this mess
Audrey Raines : Tell me what I can do
James Heller : I've prioritized evacuation protocols but I need someone to keep the State Police and the National Guard from bumping into each other
Audrey Raines : [while looking at a map on a monitor] alright I'll stop the Guard at the seventy five mile marker and let the police take over from there. We'll maximize room for civilian traffic
James Heller : I wish we had some other way of getting those people out of there
Audrey Raines : There's nowhere else to reroute them
James Heller : Jack has got to find the Override before the rest of these reactors go critical
-
Audrey Raines : [Talking privately] I'm sorry, what is it?
Edgar Stiles : It's my mother
Audrey Raines : Your mother?
Edgar Stiles : She lives near San Gabriel Island: she's in a wheelchair, she doesn't drive and she missed the call to evacuate, now I don't know what to do
Audrey Raines : Maybe someone from the National Guard can get her?
Edgar Stiles : I already spoke to the area commander, he said he couldn't spare anyone
Audrey Raines : I'm sorry, I'm not sure what I can do
Edgar Stiles : [Hands her a piece of paper] here's his number. I thought maybe you called him yourself, I hate asking for special treatment: that's not something I normally do but she's my mother
Audrey Raines : I can't make any promises
Edgar Stiles : Just promise me you'll try ok?
Audrey Raines : Alright
-
Edgar Stiles : Did you talk to them?
Audrey Raines : Yes, I'm sorry, they can't get your mother
Edgar Stiles : Why not? Their five miles off the highway, it wouldn't take much time
Audrey Raines : They know where she is
Edgar Stiles : Then what's the problem?
Audrey Raines : Thousands of people are stuck in the interstate and traffic, it's taken the combined effort of the police and the National Guard to get them moving
Edgar Stiles : So who cares about one old woman?
Audrey Raines : They've got to throw their resources into saving the maximum number of lives
Edgar Stiles : [Before walking away] if my mother were rich or a politician, they'd find a way to save her
