- Mara Tyler: Sorry we have to bring you in like this
- Jack Bauer: It's alright, I understand
- Mara Tyler: A year and a half: how'd you manage to stay "invisible" for so long?
- Jack Bauer: Apparently, I wasn't as "invisible as I should've been
- Curtis Manning: [after answering her phone] put Bauer on
- Mara Tyler: [while handing Jack her phone] it's Agent Manning
- Jack Bauer: Yeah?
- Curtis Manning: You said the suspect was hiding among the hostages?
- Jack Bauer: Yeah right up until the assault began: somewhere around ten thirty, they were looking for an exit
- Curtis Manning: What exit was closest?
- Jack Bauer: Without an alarm? Between gate six and seven
- Curtis Manning: [Before hanging up] thanks
- Chloe O'Brian: [Irritated] what's your problem?
- Edgar Stiles: I don't have a problem
- Chloe O'Brian: Then what'd you want?
- Edgar Stiles: Nothing
- Chloe O'Brian: I'm sorry my private life hasn't remained "private" today
- Edgar Stiles: I'm thinking the opposite
- Chloe O'Brian: What'd you mean?
- Edgar Stiles: You're too "private." We've known each other for years and today I find out your keeping secrets from me?
- Chloe O'Brian: Haven't you ever taken a psychology class? People keep secrets
- Edgar Stiles: I don't: not from my friends. Why didn't you tell me Jack was alive?
- Chloe O'Brian: Oh, come on. It's called "national security"
- Edgar Stiles: What about Spencer? I didn't know you two were going out
- Chloe O'Brian: Give me a break
- Chloe O'Brian: [after his silent] ok, when we find the nerve gas and the alert level drops, we can have some tea and I'll tell you all my secrets ok?
- Diane Huxley: I'm not used to calling him "Jack." He said his name was "Frank Flynn", I thought he worked for the oil company: you probably know more about him than I do
- Audrey Raines: Not that he was dead for the last year and a half
- Diane Huxley: So, what'd you want to know?
- Audrey Raines: You said Jack was living with you for the last six months, is that correct?
- Diane Huxley: Renting a room
- Audrey Raines: So you don't have a "personal" relationship with him?
- Diane Huxley: I'm not sure if that's any of your business
- Audrey Raines: I'm sorry, I need to know how close you and Jack were: whether he confided in you or not
- Diane Huxley: Jack's a private person. I always knew he was keeping something from me, I just never "pushed" it. I accepted him for who he was. Whoever he was before, it doesn't change the way I feel about him. He was good to me, he was good to my son. He meant a lot to us: he still does
- Audrey Raines: I see, did anyone ever come by and ask about Jack?
- Diane Huxley: What'd you mean?
- Audrey Raines: "Someone" knew Jack was still alive, it's critical to our investigation to find out who that was
- Diane Huxley: No, no one ever asked about him. No one ever came to see him
- Jack Bauer: [Seeing each other for the first time since Audrey was told Jack was still alive] I don't even know where to begin: you have to believe me I couldn't tell anyone I was still alive
- Audrey Raines: You don't need to apologize
- Jack Bauer: I did it for your protection
- Audrey Raines: It's been hard for me thinking you died because I was angry at you and I hated you, I wasn't able to forgive myself for that
- Jack Bauer: You had every reason to hate me, I was responsible for Paul's death, I lied to you...
- Audrey Raines: [Interrupts him] you made a "hard" decision, I never imagined I'd get another chance to tell you this: I don't blame you on what happened with Paul
- Jack Bauer: Thank you
- Martha Logan: What are you doing?
- Evelyn Martin: Are you feeling better?
- Martha Logan: Why are you packing my things?
- Evelyn Martin: Walt Cummings asked me to
- Martha Logan: What? Where are we going?
- Evelyn Martin: I don't know if the President is going with you
- Martha Logan: Stop, what's going on?
- Evelyn Martin: They just asked me to get you ready to leave
- Martha Logan: Their sending me to Vermont aren't they? Charles is having me committed
- Evelyn Martin: I'm sorry, I honestly don't know anything else
- Spenser Wolff: [after security escorts him to an interrogation room] sir, what's going on?
- Bill Buchanan: You've been "burrowing" into CTU's classified protocols without authorization
- Spenser Wolff: [Attempting to lie] I don't know what you're talking about
- Chloe O'Brian: Stop, I know you logged onto the security substation where you had no right to be: we're going through your system so you might as well tell us now what you were doing
- Spenser Wolff: I told you I was...
- Bill Buchanan: [Interrupts him, raises his voice] that's enough. You've accessed files outside your clearance level eighteen times in the last four months you've been here
- Spenser Wolff: Sir, whatever it is you "think" you "found", it's a mistake. I've done nothing wrong
- Chloe O'Brian: Come on, you obviously have your own agenda here
- Spenser Wolff: I don't have an agenda here
- Chloe O'Brian: While you're at it, why don't you explain why it was necessary to crawl into my bed which certainly what it didn't appear to be? Just like your work here isn't what it appears to be
- Bill Buchanan: [Seeing her become emotional] let me handle this
- Spenser Wolff: Sir, obviously you can't take anything she says into consideration. I was careless and inadvertently I caused her some emotional pain
- Chloe O'Brian: [Disgusted with him] oh, please
- Spenser Wolff: Now she's trying to get back at me
- Bill Buchanan: [Sternly] I don't think so
- Spenser Wolff: Sir, I'd like to talk to a lawyer
- Bill Buchanan: Forget about lawyer: we're in the middle of a terrorist crisis. There are lives on the line, you're going to tell us what you've been doing here and you're going to tell us now
- Lynn McGill: So, the only people that knew you were alive were David Palmer, Tony Almeida, Michelle Dessler, and Chloe O'Brian?
- Jack Bauer: Yeah, at least one other person who killed David Palmer and tried to frame me for it
- Lynn McGill: And you don't know who that other person might be?
- Jack Bauer: No
- Lynn McGill: Any theories?
- Jack Bauer: About a year and a half ago, David Palmer called me: told me someone in Logan's Administration was targeting me
- Lynn McGill: Which is why you faked your own death and assumed a new identity?
- Jack Bauer: Yeah, except it didn't work. I believe whoever tried to kill me eighteen months ago, somehow found out I was still alive, and waited until today to exploit that information
- Lynn McGill: Someone inside President Logan's Administration?
- Jack Bauer: That's what David Palmer told me a year and a half ago and I believe him
- Lynn McGill: First of all, that means someone in his Administration is tied to the theft of the nerve gas
- Jack Bauer: Yeah, you're going to have to look into that
- Lynn McGill: Even if you're right, there are hundreds of people in Logan's Administration: it would take an investigation of that magnitude months to gain any attraction
- President Charles Logan: When did this happen?
- Evelyn Martin: [Referring to finding Martha Logan unconscious] a few minutes ago, I came back in I found her on the bed
- President Charles Logan: [to Martin] What'd you mean "came back in"? You mean you left her alone?
- President Charles Logan: [to Hill] What happened? Is she alright?
- Doctor Hill: She seems to be now but I have to do some tests to find out why she blacked out
- Martha Logan: [to Charles] I didn't black out: someone did this to me. Someone attacked me
- Martha Logan: [while he hugs her] you've got to do something, their trying to "get me"
- President Charles Logan: No, no one's trying to "get you", we just want you to be well
- Martha Logan: [Whispers into his ear] I have the proof and now it's gone
- President Charles Logan: What proof,? What're you talking about?
- Martha Logan: Proof David Palmer called me to warn me about today
- President Charles Logan: You're still on this?
- Martha Logan: We've never been "off" of it. You just wouldn't listen to me
- Walt Cummings: [Just walking into the room] Sir, is everything ok?
- President Charles Logan: I think so
- Martha Logan: [to Charles] no, damn it it's not ok. You people have got to listen to me, I had a document from the archive room
- President Charles Logan: Where was this document?
- Martha Logan: I am trying to tell you: it was hidden in my blouse, now t's gone, and someone stole it from me
- Bill Buchanan: [while in an interrogation room, to Spencer] who gave you the Level 5 authorization?
- Chloe O'Brian: [to Spencer] don't look at me answer him
- Spenser Wolff: I can't. I can't talk to anyone here about this
- Bill Buchanan: Whatever you were doing is over
- Bill Buchanan: [after Edgar enters the room and shows him surveillance footage] why were you tracking Jack Bauer? What the hell is going on here?
- Spenser Wolff: I was following orders, I'm sure if "their" tracking Jack Bauer, they have a good reason
- Bill Buchanan: [Raises his voice] who is "they"?
- Spenser Wolff: I won't say anything else
- Bill Buchanan: [to Chloe] find security: have them locate Jack now
- Walt Cummings: I wouldn't issue a statement about the First Lady for a couple of days: your success today should be front and center on all the networks
- President Charles Logan: That sounds right
- President Charles Logan: [after the doctor enters the room] please come in: how's Martha doing?
- Doctor Hill: She's asleep now
- President Charles Logan: Have you figured out what caused the black out?
- Doctor Hill: I spoke with her psychiatrist Dr. Carol Strung and none of the medication she's been prescribing would cause this kind of collapse
- President Charles Logan: So we still don't know what it was?
- Doctor Hill: Not yet, no
- Mike Novick: [Entering the room] Mr. President, I need to speak to you and Walt alone
- President Charles Logan: [Shakes his hand, before the doctor leaves] thank you doctor: keep a close eye on her, we'll talk soon
- President Charles Logan: [to Mike] what's up?
- Mike Novick: I'm afraid the situation at the airport has taken an unexpected turn
- President Charles Logan: What's the problem? The hostages were saved: we captured or killed all the terrorists
- Doctor Hill: Not all of them. One of the terrorists was posing as a hostage, he used the hostage crisis to cover a theft
- Walt Cummings: What theft? What was stolen?
- Mike Novick: A cash of chemical weapons
- President Charles Logan: What kind of chemical weapons?
- Mike Novick: Nerve gas
- President Charles Logan: [Nervously] is it ours?
- Mike Novick: No, Sir, CTU is still trying to source it but it was buried in a bunker at the airport. It seems this man had another crew waiting for him there
- President Charles Logan: Do we any idea what the terrorists are planning?
- Mike Novick: They haven't made any demand or issued any threats "yet"
- President Charles Logan: What are we doing to stop them?
- Mike Novick: CTU is running an interagency search effort: their coordinating ground operations and filtering intelligence
- President Charles Logan: Has the press found out about this yet?
- Mike Novick: No Sir, it's being kept internal
- President Charles Logan: [to Mike and Walt] whatever retaliation we were bracing for an hour ago is "nothing" compared to what these people are capable of doing now
- Walt Cummings: [Standing up] Sir, I'll assemble the Homeland Security team to discuss evacuation scenarios
- Bill Buchanan: [after introducing himself] you're no longer a suspect in President Palmer's murder: while you're here, you'll need this
- Lynn McGill: [while handing him a security card] I gave you a Level 2 security
- Jack Bauer: [Puts the card in his shirt pocket] thank you. Was Agent Manning able to apprehend the suspect?
- Lynn McGill: No, it seems the person you identified used the hostage situation as a "cover" to steal a cash of weaponized nerve gas from the airport
- Jack Bauer: Nerve gas? How do you know that?
- Lynn McGill: Following your lead, Curtis found trace amounts in a hanger adjacent to the terminal. We don't know how much there is and don't know where it came from but it is a military grade chemical weapon
- Jack Bauer: Do you have any leads?
- Lynn McGill: Not yet but we're going to run the search operation from here
- Jack Bauer: You're not going to be able to track these terrorists fast enough with a standard search operation. The only way you're going to get that nerve gas in time is if you find out who ordered the hit on David Palmer
- Lynn McGill: I agree, I think David Palmer was about to expose this plot: that's why he was killed. I also think if you can help identify who framed you, we can intercept the nerve gas while there's still time
- Bill Buchanan: [Walking up to them, to Lynn] the President's been informed of the nerve gas, he wants to make sure the media doesn't find out
- Lynn McGill: I'll make sure Division restricts information flow
- Lynn McGill: [to Jack before walking away] we'll continue this conversation another time
- Bill Buchanan: [Shaking hands] it's good to see you again
- Jack Bauer: It's good to see you too. I'm so sorry about Michelle, I never meant to put her in jeopardy
- Bill Buchanan: Of course you didn't
- Jack Bauer: How's Tony doing?
- Bill Buchanan: His still unconscious but the doctor says his going to pull through
- Jack Bauer: Good: we're going to need to speak to him as soon as possible
- Bill Buchanan: [Referring to the staff at the clinic] they know to call us. Audrey's been working for us
- Jack Bauer: [Surprised] she's here in the building right now?
- Bill Buchanan: She's debriefing Diane Huxley
- Jack Bauer: Why is she talking to Diane?
- Bill Buchanan: Lynn asked her to
