Renewed interest in paternity

Simon Oakland hires Stu Bailey in this episode to locate his marriage certificate to his late wife whom he abandoned years ago and who married Michael Constantine and they raised Oakland's boy. The kid grew up to be James Farentino a well regarded baseball prospect who signed for a team unnamed for a $100,000.00 bonus.

I'm not sure who has a legal claim to this money as Farentino looks of age. But Oakland is interested and some other group headed by Frank DeKova is interested in robbing him.

Thin plot, but good characters.

This was an above average episode for the otherwise poor season six. It still had cliché, gravelly voices, and terribly directed dialogue, but at least the story was better than "Five" and some of the other early episodes.

There is even a somewhat touching scene between a son and his adoptive father, upon the son learning of the adoption.

The blackmail plot involved here is pretty thin, though.
