It's hard to formulate an opinion when you realize that this episode was not intended to be a series finale for ALF. It was filmed as a cliffhanger with that cliffhanger being resolved the subsequent season. But since ALF didn't get another season after this aired, viewers had to settle with the ALF story ending here. That certainly wasn't what viewers wanted, a total backtrack on the past four seasons.
