- The Wrigleys' annual trip to the Hoover Dam turns into a competition with another family. Don, who wants to keep his title as "King Of The Road", tries to beat them there, but his efforts are threatened by frequent bathroom breaks and lack of family spirit.—Jmac1988
- he episode opens as always with an introduction of some sort by Older Pete. This episode, he explains how his family suddenly transforms from slightly abnormal to completely weird during their family trips to the Hoover Dam, especially his father, Don Wrigley. Pete further explains his father's obsession with holding the perfect family trip, from making sure the tire pressure is precise to having the perfect suitcase luggage stack on top of the car. Don had even "asked for plates that spelled out his title a little better, but "King O Frod" was the best our state could do."
However, Don's self-title of "King of the Road" is crushed when he and the family encounter a rival family during their bathroom/rest break during their trip. Older Pete finds the other family's eldest daughter to be quite attractive, but Don just finds their entire family repulsive after finding that their tire pressure, suitcase stack and license plate title is more perfect than his. Enraged, Don rushes to re-group his family and beat the other family to the Hoover Dam. If they don't, then Don will be forced to admit defeat.
Back on the road, Don tries to find as many shortcuts as possible, but only gets further behind the perfect family. To make matters worse, Older Pete has fallen completely head over heels over the unnamed rival family's daughter, even going as far as writing a poem over the course of the family car's windows. Adding fuel to his dad's fire, Don forces Older Pete to the dreaded back of the car.
As tensions increase, the Wrigleys finally reach the home stretch to the Hoover Dam, only to meet up with the perfect family. Neck to neck, the only way to settle who's King of the Road is to not only be the first to reach the Hoover Dam, but have the tallest luggage stack on the top of their car, as well. However, it seems that the perfect family once again has the upper hand.
Finally coming to his senses, Older Pete is able to encourage the rest of his family to remove their clothes to have the taller luggage stack and win the race "the Wrigley way."
