You can't kill spirit
pensman4 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Rip, O'Hara, and Rusty are in Powder Creek to make a bar and casino off limits to the military. They arrive in time to spot a fire and help put it out. Guiseppe Aralde's barbershop was saved from burning down. Guiseppe wants the citizens committee to build an opera house to compete with McClanahan's bar and casino. When Rip delivers the news to McClanahan that Major Swanson has put his place off-limits. McClanahan blames Guiseppe, and suggests that Guiseppe might meet with an accident.

As Guiseppe is breaking ground for the opera house, Bascom reports to McClanahan who says Guiseppe is just digging his own grave. As a soldier is about to enter McClanahan's, Rinty tries to stop him. Rinty has to go for Rip who comes to tell the soldier to leave. One of McClanahan's men tries to attack Rip but Rinty stops him. Then McClanahan has his men shoot up the town and Rusty is almost hit.

Rip stations men outside of McClanahan's; and Rip has applied for Powder Creek to be but under martial law. McClanahan sends men to burn down Guiseppe's building. Rusty was inside and sends Rinty to capture one of the men. The fire department is unable to save Guiseppe's; and McClanahan realizes his plan might burn down the entire town. He grabs his money and figures he better get out before they pin the fire on him. Bascom, caught by Rinty, confesses that McClanahan told him to do it.

McClanahan is attempting to leave town when a building collapses and kills him. The whole town burns down; but Guiseppe offers his life savings of $15,000 to help rebuild the town. Rip says there is also the money they found with McClanahan's body, and the money that looters were trying to get out of town with. It looks like Powder Creek isn't completely dead yet.
