Crime bestsellers author Harry Schrijver is found, skull smashed repeatedly and chest fatally stabbed with a broken-off letter-opener, in his home study, by his wife Irma, stepson Sjors, his father Henk Sørensen and Harry's editor Freek Hermans. It seems there was a break-in, but nobody heard anything. Young writer Leon Herfst just accused Schrijver of plagiarism. Hermans could loose his goldmine to another editor. Harry regularly abused wife and kid. Despite three confessions, De Cock comes up with two more culprits.
