Baretta set up by the mob.
searchanddestroy-127 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Whilst he chases drug dealers escaping aboard a street food truck, Baretta provokes a car accident and has to face the wrath of his hierarchy because of that. So, he will stop at nothing to finally achieve his goal: nail the drug pushers whom he chased in the first time. That will bring him to investigate on his own in a high school, jamming locker rooms to search for guns or dope. And what's interesting in this episode, is the help he will receive from an offbeat cop played by Harris Yulin, whom the character is not so far from the one he will have seven years later in SCARFACE; remember, the rotten cop who was in business with Tony Montana's former boss - played by the late Robert Loggia. Maybe the ambivalent character Yulin plays here influenced Brian De Palma in his cast choice for SCARFACE... And you also have a unexpected scheme in this story, Baretta set up by the gangsters and searched by the police. Good episode.
