The television host Gary Michaels is played by Los Angeles DJ/radio host and actor Gary Owens of "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" fame, NBC's hit wacky comedy variety show, which had ended in 1973. The catchphrase he uses, "Here come de judge," was the name of a sketch from that show.
